I have been using Guardsman for decades and it always does what I need.

For instance: I had a walnut wood dining room table stored in a barn for 10 years. The barn had no heat and was somewhat humid. The surface of the wood developed a film over it that looked permanent, as if the finish had been damaged. But I put a bit of Guardsman on a soft cloth and rubbed it on, going with the grain. I wiped that until it had an even coat. I let it sit overnight and did the same again. Once again with the same treatment for another night. Let it sit for a day. Then look across the wood surface seeing the reflection of soft sunlight. It should look even and pretty much exactly as it was left 10 years ago... and it is. I wiped that last stage with a dry soft cloth to get any lingering polish sheen away. And it was done.

There is no product better than Guardsman for fine furniture. I have been using it for 40 years. I am saddened that Guardsman does not offer the concentrate any longer. Consumers today must not want to mess with having to mix with water, but I find the concentrate gives me more control over how much Guardsman to use on certain pieces of furniture. I would have graded this 5 stars, but I still miss the concentrate. If it is still available, I would be interested in knowing where to order it.
I never thought using furniture polish would actually affect finished wood furniture. Boy, was I wrong! I had used a lemon-scented furniture polish spray in the past and it would smear and build up. So for many years I've only dusted our wood furniture. Our local fine furniture store recommends using a cream polish, so I finally decided to give it a try when we recently bought a dining room set. I researched and picked Guardsman. It is a delight to use and the results are immediate and long-lasting! I know it says it has a woodland scent, but I can only detect a faint neutral scent. Many scented products give me a headache, but not this. Now back to the results: I applied it with one hand in an old cotton sock, then buffed with an old washcloth. Easy. The wood glows with a rich luster. It was so rewarding that I went around our house polishing all the wood furniture!
Got this to use on some teak furniture that's been very neglected over the decades and it did a good job of cleaning most of the human hand grime off on the first go. Also worked decently on some color transfer from other furniture/painters/craft projects/who knows what. I'm not overly fond of most fragrance and this one is nice because it's mild and just makes the wood smell... woodier? It's not super fruity or fake.
I read a bunch of reviews on this product prior to purchasing it, and I've got mixed feelings about it. I used this product along with the Guardsman Wood Furniture Dusting Cloths and used it on a several pieces of wood furniture in my household. The results included wood that felt smooth to the touch, but there was no polished look which is what I was hoping for. Hopefully it at least protects the wood furniture due to it's UV protection as is mentioned in the product info.
Used this on a solid wood dining table by Ethan Allen. This product leaves a film, even after buffing and washing off with Murphys Oil Soap. It really sinks into wood which may be great for old wood, but leaves a greasy, perspiration and residue on my table. Will not use again.
Only have ever used Guardsman furniture polish on our newer furniture. Mostly solid wood with dark finishes. This product requires more effort to use than an aerosol/spray polish. It also is hard to get an even finish. It streaks and doesn't seem to soak in well. I tried microfiber and terry cloth towels. Will be going back to the spray polish.
I have used Guardsman for 40 years. I like that it moisturizes and cleans the wood. It is not a wax so there's no buildup. It leaves a nice shine. I use it only every 4 to 6 weeks, dry dusting the other weeks. I like that one can apply it with a cloth, not from an aerosol container. No fumes involved.
