This review is for AmazonBasics Aurora Metal and Wood Platform Bed with Headboard - Wood Slat Support, Queen
First of all the instruction is the most useless one you will ever see. There is not a single explanation which goes where. I wasn’t sure where to use the washers for the screws and I just decided to use some and in the end, I had a couple of spare ones because you don’t know where they belong.
One of the crossbar installation holes was completely out of place when you push it all the way it was misplaced about an inch so I skipped the screw on that hole. The paint job on the wood part is very poor you can see there are a bunch of imperfections.
I wasn’t expecting it would be too low only 5-6 inches away from the floor, even with a 12inch mattress it still feels so low when you sit and try to get up.
The best part of the frame is the bed support woods have to Velcro and it is super convenient to keep the woods in place.
Overall this is an okay quality frame with lots of rooms for imporvements, but I would expect a lot more from this price point frame.
You cannot comment on how an item gets to you, even if it's crucial to the review. Suffice it to say, the item got to me battered, missing bolts and bent cross members. I had an entire well written review written with no option to edit, so I'll just put up a much quicker review to say stay away.
The instructions are horrible. The wooden backboards are not clearly labeled as to how they mount, and we ended up putting them on the wrong side, so we had to take them off after realizing where the long cross members go.
Those long cross members were designed on a computer and I don't think that they ever actually tried building what they designed. You're left with less than 90 degrees per turn to crank an allen wrench, tightening those in place.
The toe piece of the footboard side runs along the floor and you will stub your toe in the middle of the night.
The only reason it gets two stars is that it doesn't squeak when in use.
I had quite a bit of trouble putting this together. Some of the pieces I ended up putting on wrong and backward. It was just a hot mess. And I’m really not even sure why. I’ve put together lots of furniture and stuff and the directions seamed pretty well laid out. I just had quite a bit of trouble with it. I spent over an hour on it and took a break because I was so frustrated. Came back and got it done in another 25 min.
But after it was put together I’m quite happy with it. It looks great and is super sturdy! I was nervous because I got this for my son whom is almost 8 and he can be rough on beds. So I couldn’t get just any cheap frame. But this seams like it will hold up very well and looks great in his room. I will update if anything changes but as of now I’m quite happy. I did dock a star becuause of assembly but other than that it’s really nice!
