Our knife was very dull before we bought it. It's laborious to use it for meat cutting, and My wife complained it for a long time. I get a sharp enough edge to slice very thing in the kitchen by grinding the knife 5 times with No. 2, 3, and 4 positions. The whole process took me only 2 minutes. For 5 years I used to sharpen my knives by rubbing them against each other, and I could see the improvement, but as a friend suggested, bought these knife sharpeners and saw the real difference. Very good kit, with 3 different granularities to make sure you are not taking that much of the steel and still make it very sharp. There were two items that we always had issues, 1) daily use of cutting fruits, specially tomatoes for salad and 2) we buy large loads of chicken/meet and cutting them was always a pain. After sharpening our knives with this kit, both tasks became very easy. I also checked online, and these have very good price among others. No disadvantage now, I will update this in case I observed any decrease in the performance later.
