We bought this set to donate to a needy family and I’m impressed. You get a lot for your money. Besides the extras, the knives themselves are amazing. The shank is surrounded by a resin handle. I was tempted to buy knives with wooden handles but I have zero interest in hand washing knives.
Where this set shines are the Larger knives. They are substantial to hold and are sharp. I tested the chef’s knife and it sliced right through a piece of paper (see my video). The block looks like it’s made of walnut; it really beautiful.
My husband had to keep reminding me that we aren’t keeping this set as I coveted it.
This is a really great set of knives for the value. I would recommend them and I would purchase them again. Good quality and nicely designed. The design on the blades stands out more in the pictures on Amazon than it does in person, a lot depends on how the light is hitting it. The design on the blades makes them look like a much more expensive set than they actually are. The quality of the knives seems really good and with proper care I expect them to last me many years. I had no problems getting all the knives to fit into the block. Pretty much any knife review you read there are going to be people complaining about the knives rusting. Lots of knives say they are dishwasher safe, but they are not. Knives like this rust and lose their edge in dishwashers. As soon as I'm done I run them under the faucet to get any food particles off, wipe them down with a paper towel and then dry them off and put them back in the block. They are great for slicing vegetables, meat, and that kind of stuff. I would recommend trying to chop down a tree or prying open cans with them.
Got it for my wife to replace our old knives which were bits and pieces of different type and brand pieced together so it kind of hard to choose when we need a knife for certain things. This knife set basically contains all variety of knives anyone would need to use in a personal's kitchen. They are super sharp, the blades are not too heavy but not too light either, it's perfect weight to hold and use. I really like how the whole knife is integrated into the handle, making the knife one whole long piece which provides better balance and more cutting pressure. It also includes a nice sharper stick and all fit perfectly in the included wood block, where each type of knife goes into its slot and would help us easily identify which one we need when we need it.
Overall this is a good set of knives for the money. You could spend $300 or more to get a better knife set. For day to day residential use, these will suffice. The laser etched faux damascus striations are lightly visible. The handles are comfortable. The factory sharpness of the blades is ok. The knives will slightly hang and shave hair. The steel has enough carbon and rigidity to produce a very sharp blade. The cutting edge isn't well polished. If you are looking for razor sharpness, it wouldnt take much effort to polish the edges to a mirrored finish using an ultra fine stone and leather strop. I'm just not into maintaining this level of sharpness on kitchen knives. I havent used these enough to address whether or not they rust under typical kitchen use in a busy household.
Edit: After putting the knife set through standard use in the kitchen to include sitting in dish water for periods of time, there are no signs of rust. I don't run through the dishwasher in order to maintain blade sharpness.
I had been looking at purchasing a new set of knives for quite some time. What I had were at least 10 years old the knives were mostly dull and I actually broke a few due to them rusting out at the handle. I came across this Taimasi set on Amazon and read the reviews and other information on the knives.
When I opened the package I was immediately impressed. Most of the knives I had been looking at were lightweight and didn't look like they were any better than anyone else had been offering even at higher prices. These just feel like a quality instrument in your hand if I can put it that way. They aren't really heavy but certainly not lightweight or "cheap" looking or feeling when you use them. I'm not a chef but I do like cooking and for me these appeared to be one of the best knives I have ever handled. They arrived sharp and I have not been disappointed at all with my purchase I felt and do feel like I got a really good deal for the price.
I bought this knife set because of everything it had to offer and since we have a big family he steak knives are a great addition. Everything was well packaged aswell the only hassle was opening up each individual knife from the set. Other than that they are decent at cutting and the modern look it has adds a nice touch to our home.
This is affordable for any home and we love the way it looks, defiantly will be using this for the upcoming years.
This knife set comes with all the essentials: chef's knife, serrated knife, paring knife, knife sharpener, spatula, bread brush, a bunch of steak knifes, and so much more. Each knife is sharp, sturdy, and three-riveted. The set comes with a beatufiul wooden storage block. With such great quality, this product looks quite high end. Overall, I am extremely statisfied.
These knife set includes a wide variety of knifes that I would need in my kitchen. They are really sharp and handles are comfortable. It also includes sharpener rod and some accessories. The wooden holder looks classy. So far I am happy with this set. Especially, considering the price, it is a good buy.
