After reading the reviews, I ordered this well before Christmas so I would have time to return it, if I felt it was a crummy, cheaply made toy. I build furniture and know a little about what I wanted to see, material-wise . I expected the worst. HOWEVER, while I found some aspects of the directions a little confusing, I got it together in 30 minutes or so. A second set of hands to hold things together before putting in fasteners would be helpful to anyone buying this. The important things I noticed were the fact that high quality, Baltic Birch plywood was used for most essential parts. Assembly also employed barrel nuts to act as bosses to hold the nice quality machine screws that do most of the holding. Yes, a little mdf was used to make some internal partitions, but they are inconsequential and are captured in dados let into the plywood pieces. They are as good as they need to be. One of the doors is a tiny bit warped and I might have liked to see some kind of magnetic door clasp, I may add one myself. All-in-all, this is a very well made children's toy. I will see how it holds up after my 2, 2 1/2 year-0ld granddaughters give it a once over at Christmas. I am impressed, so far.

Super easy to assemble (way less than an hour, an hour if distracted by texts/wine/toddler wake ups) but the doors don’t hang straight and that’s going to drive me nuts. Also there is a paint issue dead center in the counter- these resulted in me docking a star. Overall I’m please and can’t wait to see my sons face in the morning!

This kitchen is a little smaller than most. I didnt realize this and didnt pay attention to the dimensions listed before I ordered it. It's cute though and my 2.5 year old likes it enough. If you have a small play area or are in apartment this is great. We have a good size play area so i do wish it was bigger especially as she gets bigger. And wish it had more counter space for chopping and such. But I have a baby too so he will also get to use it soon. I want to get the fridge too soon. My niece is 14 and put this together in maybe 30 min it had a good amount of screws and such but wasnt overwhelming.

Bought this for my son on Prime Day for Christmas. This is the 3rd day of this being assembled and played with. On the 3rd day, the door falls off and wont reattach? I'm sorry, but this is unacceptable. I have contacted Hape Toys in all the ways possible, still have yet to hear back. I would get into the false advertisement of the Product Materials as well, being that the entire kitchen is NOT 100% real wood. But at this rate, I would just like a functional toy that can last longer than 3 days.

This is a very well-made kitchen! I wanted a smallish kitchen for my grandchildren so I could move it around - it’s the perfect size!

This toy is not well made and is a nightmare to put together. The screws do not hold and my husband had to use nails and glue to keep it together. I have other Hape products that I love but this set is not up to their standards. I would not buy this kitchen! I would return it but I had it more than a month when my husband tried to assemble it. He is still working on it after 2 hours and it will not hold.

Small, but that’s one of the reasons I chose this one. Took me about 25 minutes to assemble, with the “help” of my 4 and 1.5 year olds. Would have probably been 15 without. Sturdy design.
I bought this for my 1.5 yr old girl who is always mimicking me when I’m in the kitchen.
But my 4 year old boy immediately stared playing “chopped kitchen” ( I guess my food network binging has rubbed off on him).
They both love it and I highly recommend

This kitchen is amazing. My 19 month old son will play with it for hours on end. The fact that it is made out of real wood and not plastic is wonderful, especially for the price. The quality is very good. It definitely stands up to my rough little wild child, and I think he really likes the fact that it looks and feels like real cabinetry since it’s always more intriguing for kids to get to play with “adult” feeling things.
