DO NOT UNZIP THE MATTRESS COVER!!! We really enjoyed this mattress for the first year and a half. Our son had an accident on the mattress so we tried to clean it without removing the mattress cover but couldn’t get the stain out. We regrettably then decided to remove the outer cover and unleashed a invisible fiberglass storm into our house. We have spent thousands of dollars trying remediate this disaster. We hired Servpro to help filter out all of the fiber glass particles in the air.
We have little fiber glass shards in everything that won’t wash out. We will have to throw out all of our clothing, bed, mattress, sheets, blankets, towels and pretty much everything with cotton. Btw... I called Zinus and they told me “yes we are aware and that’s why it says not to remove the cover.” Then why did you put a zipper on it?!?!?

BECAUSE...The mattress is SO comfortable, and we love it.....
I bought a 12" Queen for my boyfriend for Christmas. Upon opening it, we smelled a strong mildew smell. We let it rise fully, for 2 days, once it had fully risen we took the cover off of the mattress and washed it. In the meantime, I stood the mattress up on it's side to air it out. Sprayed it with febreeze and put the washed mattress cover and clean sheets on the bed. I thought that had done the trick however with in a week it was back. Now, you can smell it as soon as you walk into the apartment. I can't imagine what it is going to be like when summer gets here. Now, three months later and my boyfriend has been dealing with sinus/headache issues in the last month. I am concerned that there is a connection between his issues and the mattress!! So, he has been sleeping on his couch :/

ZINUS PLEASE HELP!! BECAUSE AS FAR AS COMFORTABILITY WE ARE 100% SATISFIED..... BUT CAN NO LONGER DEAL WITH THE SMELL :( ESPECIALLY IF IT IS CAUSING HEALTH ISSUES!

I ordered this item on 1-27-2018 it arrived on 1-29-2018 with my prime membership. I opened and laid it out on top of a guest room bed to inflate. In 4 hours it appeared to be fully inflated. However packing info says wait 24-48 hours before using to allow proper time to inflate. I did however break down and climb on to see how it feels. I am on a pillow top mattress currently that is roughly 6-8 years old and has been causing me a lot of pain in my shoulder and hip as I am a side sleeper. Just laying on this bed for a few minutes its much firmer than my current bed, and so very comfortable. I will leave a more through review once I have actually slept in it for a few nights. I can say I am very excited. I plan to put it on my current box springs, and we will see how it goes. I was a bit disappointed to realize you cant flip the mattress only rotate it, which is what I have currently with my terrible pillow top . and I like to flip my mattresses every month. I will also state that when I unrolled it I was really worried about it forming its natural state as it had a lot of weird lumps from packing, but it has formed to a normal mattress already on a cursory view of it on my way out the door today. I will better inspect it when moving it to my actual bed.

Update!! I have been sleeping on this mattress for about a week now. I will say one night I did get very warm, however I don't think it was my mattress I tend to run hot and cold and occasionally has the same issue with my old pillow top. This mattress is shockingly firm when you first sit or lay on it you think oh Hell No! But within second the memory foam begins to contour to your body and it's very comfortable. I am a side sleeper and was having alot of hip pain with my old mattress. While my pain isn't gone it's much better, and I think it will go away given more time with this new bed. My review is definitely a positive one. For 179$ and arriving in 2 days I'm very pleased. Included are 3 photos the last photo shows me sitting on the edge of the bed showing how much it goes down with my weight, and that I don't know why people say you can't sit on the sides I can't sit on any side any corner no issues... and even with my weight it springs right back to shape once I move or get up, it also still provides comfort and support this bed is rated up to 500lbs! Which thankfully I am not!

I have been sleeping on this bed for over a month now, and wanted to update my thoughts. My hip and shoulder were in ALOT of pain when I bought my new mattress. I couldn't barely walk around during the day from the pain, now I am fully recovered and I credit my bed for this. If you are on a budget and cant spend 500-1000$ on a new mattress I greatly recommend this item.
If you are plus sized and worried about it don't be this bed is tested for 500lbs and as a big girl myself I sleep amazing on it with my HUGE dog and cat. I feel more rested and relaxed waking than I have in at least 5 years.

Worst mattress. Not only did this mattress become covered in black mold but it was growing from within the mattress.

We followed every recommendation and precaution to take care of our mattress including cover and storage. You can see through the pictures it’s not a little mold but riddled throughout the entire mattress. AND WE ONLY HAD IT 9 MONTHS. See pictures.

Worst mattress. Worst sleeping experience due to mold that made us sick.

I have been debating on leaving feedback about this mattress! We are on our 3rd one from Amazon & still so highly disappointed it's unbelievable! The sad part is I don't believe it's Zinus, I blame Amazon! They have sent us 3 different mattresses with packing dates from Zinus some as early as almost a year ago. If you read the info from Zinus they should be opened no later than a month, or 2 at the latest in order for them to decompress properly, which NONE of ours have! Also, Amazon doesn't tell you that their is a different level of firmness available in this mattress, unfortunately we must have gotten the firmest one they make! We ordered the 12" the 1st one didn't make it past 3/4", 2nd one 6/7" & the 3rd finally after a full 8 days made it to around 10/11" & is hard as rock with NO GIVE! We have no choice but to sleep on it, because we got rid of our old mattress when we were so excited to get the 1st one of these! Neither my husband or I have had a good night's sleep since this all started in Dec 2017. Amazon promised to follow up with us & keep going until it was made right, needless to say we haven't heard back from them! Now, we have no more $ to invest in another mattress! My advice, when it comes to item's like this you're better off dealing directly w/the manufacturer so you know EXACTLY what you're getting! Don't get me wrong, we're Prime members & have been for 3-year's & will continue to be. We just made a bad choice believing Amazon would follow thru & make it right & we were sadly proven wrong by Amazon NOT the manufacturer! We WILL NOT make the same mistake again!

Bought the 6 inch model for a spare bed at the cottage. After a week it expanded to 3 inches. Some areas were 4 or 5 inches. Lumpy. Uncomfortable. I read all the positive reviews and took a chance. Now Amazon wants me to return a mattress in the mail. Picture yourself doing that before buying.

I bought this bed months ago but wanted to get a good amount of use before posting a review. Truth be told, I could have written one after one sleep because this is just as comfortable as it was the first night! Earlier this year I bought one of those fancy (read: way too expensive) Endy mattresses and HATED it. I returned it after three months and purchased this bed, mostly out of desperation because I didn’t have a mattress and this was way cheaper. It’s a dream. I feel like I’m sleeping on a hotel bed every night. I sleep alone and tend to sleep in the middle-ish and there’s zero sign of any sagging or dent. Mind you, I have a cooling thin pillow top on it because summers are super hot here/I sleep hot, but nearly all the credit goes to the mattress. I’ve recommended it to several friends and will keep recommending!

This is a really tough one.

First off, I want to say that I myself am 110% satisfied with this mattress. I am 220 lbs and approximately 6ft tall man. With some budget mattresses a good night sleep can be hard since they usually do not offer very much support. The Zinus Memory Foam changed all of that. Now, when I lie on my side, my body gets contoured just enough to have great support and softness. So for me - it's an A+.

My wife on the other hand is in her second trimester and feels that the mattress is too soft and is hurting her back. This poses a dilemma because it is actually extremely common for pregnant women to have back pain during pregnancy as their bodies adapt to the extra weight. I love her very much and would give up the Zinus in a heartbeat if I truly believed that the mattress was responsible. I have had many women explain to my wife that the back pain is normal so she agreed to give it some more time. My wife is the most amazing person I have ever met by the way.

So for now - I am very very happy with the mattress. If things do not pan out with my wife, I will unfortunately have to return it. Zinus has a great return policy and they are extremely accommodating. If my wife decides to keep the mattress, I will append my review to 5 stars.

The delivery arrived a day early which was awesome. My boyfriend and I just moved in together and we needed a cheap bed. I read the good and bad reviews so I was a bit nervous, but I’m glad I decided to try it out. It did have a pretty intense smell at first, but it wasn’t a bad smell. Just like chemically kind of. I left it to inflate and air out with a window open for two days and the smell is basically entirely gone. I slept on it for the first time last night and it’s comfortable, and an incredibly thick mattress. Definitely worth the price. I feel very elevated off the floor which I like. I would recommend this for anyone looking for a comfortable and cost friendly mattress.

The smell did take maybe a couple days.. I noticed it wasn't gone the first night like they claim. I can't remember how long actually (I guess it didn't bother me too much), but maybe 2-3 days.

Would have been 5 stars, but there's this little bit in the corner that never poofed up. It's one of the middle layers right in one corner that looks permanently squished, so it's not a square corner like the other corners. It bugs me, but it's certainly not a big enough deal for me to want to replace it, it's only affects an inch or so, is invisible with sheets on, and I don't sleep on the corner of the bed so it's not going to make a difference.

I don't know much about beds, so I can't really comment on quality of back support and whatever, but I think it's comfortable. It gives way quite a bit for the heavy parts of your body, or when you put an elbow down or something, but still has a firm feeling. I like firm mattresses so I'm pretty happy with it.

I've had it for a month so I don't know about long term yet.. but you can't beat the price though. Even if it only lasts two years it's already paid for itself.

I got the 12 inch queen size and it is a wonderful mattress. There was an odour upon removing the mattress from its package, but that's to be expected with any foam mattress. The odour was not terrible, and went away within a few days. When I first slept on it, there was a smell which simply smelled like new mattress, which wasn't a bad smell, and also went away in a week or two. If the smell bothers you while sleeping on it, try doubling up on sheets, or add some Febreeze on your sheets.

I've had this mattress for several months now and it has allowed me a good nights rest. I weigh 125lbs and the mattress is a bit soft. I would say its firmness level is "medium-soft". It isn't stiff, but it isn't exactly soft where you sink in deeply. There is enough support to keep you comfortable, and enough softness to be able to relax. Personally, I would enjoy the mattress a little more if it was slightly more firm (it's a touch too soft for my liking), but it's still plenty comfortable and has satisfied my sleeping needs.

On a final note, the mattress did not full "deflate". Two of the corners are still slightly compressed even months after laying it out. They are only the corners though, so it does not bother me or effect the comfort of the mattress. If I had OCD or if it was a comfort issue, I would have returned the mattress (somehow? not sure how you can return it once opened... you can't exactly roll it back up into its packaging). Also, you can feel the ridges of foam layers on the sides of the mattress, and it isn't smooth. Again, this isn't a huge deal to me since it doesn't effect the comfort of sleeping, but it just shows that they didn't pay attention to details when manufacturing this mattress.

Overall, a good mattress for a decent price, but it has its flaws.

Received the mattress over two weeks ago, and still haven't even been able to sleep on it because it still smells so bad. It's been sitting in our spare bedroom with the mattress cover removed ever since we opened it. Unlike Casper, or any other legitimate mattress-in-a-box this mattress is essentially impossible to return.

Unless you're willing to wait around a month or so for the chemicals in this mattress to dissipate and air out, don't buy this thing.

Extremely disappointed.

I’m giving this mattress a 5 star review solely for the comfort. I will never go back to a coil mattress!

I allowed the mattress to decompress for 24 hours before I slept on it. I placed it on top of my current mattress (another I bought on amazon, different brand/ type and didn’t like it). It’s now day 4 and sadly it has only decompressed to not even 9”, 3” shorter than what it’s supposed to be. And like many others, the corners are even less.

I sold the old mattress underneath and when I placed this mattress back in my frame it doesn’t fit. It’s about 1” wider than a double mattress. My bed frame has rails and so I had to squeeze and push it in the frame to fit.

To be honest, these concerns are minor when considering the comfort of this mattress. It is exactly what I had hoped it would be.

Two- week update: Still very much love this mattress! The issues I noted above may be bothersome for some but not for me. If you're on the fence, I say give it a try. Maybe get a frame that doesn't have side rails and allow the mattress to decompress for a full 72 hours. I did NOT notice any smell whatsoever. I find it very hard to get out of in the morning but my sleeping has improved ten-fold. I no longer wake through the middle of the night in discomfort.

The mattress is by far the best mattress I have ever owned or had the pleasure to sleep on. I now have uninterrupted sleeps and that’s a first for me. The price at 300 is an amazing deal and these guys are for sure goof to take over the sleep industry . Super happy and my dads going to be buying a queen size memory foam mattress :) thanks guys :)

This purchase was a huge mistake.
First of all, I thought the title of "amazon's choice" was related to its quality, but it's probably just some business deal they have.
There are instructions that tell you to wait for 48 hours for the mattress to expand to its proper size (which is kind of ridiculous and a waste of time). I did, and after 2 days, it's only expanded UNEVENLY to 4-5 inches, and the "firm" part isn't even firm. The product is basically defective from being over-compressed.
Now I'm in the process of returning it and to be honest, the amount of time wasted on it is just draining.
About the smell, I didn't mind it at all, it actually smelled very non-synthetic and the label says it's not harmful.

After reading reviews on this mattress, I was little bit worried as many people report that the mattress doesn’t expand on the sides, but decided to take a shot.
My mattress has arrived within 3 days, No delays in shipping.
The odour which others are reporting is slightly noticeable but not strong at all. Just keep it in well ventilated room for a few days.
It started expanding right away. Now, 2 days later, it’s about 11,5 inches. The corners are about 11inches - which is not a big deal
For the total price of $397.98 (with tax), those little flaws are forgiving.
The mattress is firm but comfortable. don’t compare its firmness with the spring mattress, as memory foam firmness is softer :)

My experience was absolutely flawless, aside from the 1 day delay in shipping. The bed itself had absolutely none of the "earthy" smell which others are reporting. It reformed its shape in just 4-5 hours and not the 12 hours the company suggests. You can lay on it it just a few hours.
The mattress firmness is on par with tempurpedic mattresses. It's firm, but you really do sink in enough to be very comfortable especially if you sleep in your side.
The first night, my back was a tad sore but it's to be expected if you're coming from a foam mattress.
Also keep in mind that this firmness and tempurpedic is good for your back.

Overall, for the price of this mattress, it's an obvious pick. I highly suggest this mattress.

The mattress is two layers. The bottom layer is 4 inch corrugated thick foam topped by one inch memory foam. After few days of usage, the holes in the bottom layer became too apparent that you could feel them with your hands. Gives you a weird experience. I can't even send it back since they don't reverse pickup and I can't lug it to the post office.

PS: No, it isn't 6 inches thick. More like 5.

Because I was originally so impressed by my first Zinus Queen size green tea mattress, I didn’t hesitate to purchase a second Zinus memory foam Green Tea Mattress (KING SIZE) for my daughter.
Boy was I wrong to buy this again! This one did not let off a chemical smell like the first, however it did not expand properly. All 4 corners are about 5 inches high and the entire mattress stopped expanding at just under 11 inches (instead of the full 12 as stated in seller comments).
Now what? I return this how exactly? I can’t get this to a fedex counter on my own. IT’S KING SIZE!!! I believe in Amazon quality. I trust that a company of this size with a great reputation, would stop selling an item that clearly is flawed. This product is a hit and miss... I am unsure at this point what to do? I do not recommend this mattress to anyone, as returning it is impossible.
