I didn’t know I was going to become a caregiver or the changes that would happen along the way. Incontinence is not fun. One night a couple years in at 2 am while changing sheets, throwaway pads, blankets , everything, I had a vision: a bed with layers of these washable pads. Come in at 2 am, peel off a layer, throw it in the extra super dirty pile and go back to bed. Voilá! It worked. I ordered many of the largest. A layer under the sheets - no more trying to dry out the foam mattress topper! A layer over the sheets, two layers of I plan ahead and presto chango, clean bed in an instant. The professionals can deal with the rinsing during normal hours. I can be a good caregiver without working all night or barfing at duties. My pros come in at normal rates, normal hours and do the things I can’t do. Presto chango - my quality of life is restored!

In technical terms: they absorb a LOT! Nothing soaks through to the other side or runs off the edges, so the sheets stay clean; the bed stays dry; the mattress topper is dry and safe. I’m not grumpy. Everyone is happier.

DO NOT BUY THESE from Personal Touch health Care Apparel. This was a reorder of Medline brand pads that I'd bought last year. Instead of Medline, I was sent another knockoff set made in China... no brand label. After washing, they leak like a sieve onto furniture. Be careful to buy the Medline pads or you'll have a mess. I want my money back. Total garbage.
In 2017, I ordered this product. Back then, each pad was generously padded, with great liquid absorption. It was an excellent size. The pads were long lasting and satisfactorily machine washable.... all in all a very satisfactory product. About a week ago, I reordered the product..... The current version of this product is TERRIBLE.... TOTALLY UNSATISFACTORY. Each pad is thin with virtually no padding at all and NO ABSORPTION AT ALL, leaving a pool of liquid to "live with".... The size is fine. I can't imagine that this current product will be long lasting... nor that it will do well being machine washed over and over. I am extremely displeased with the product I was sent. Even more displeased because I "reordered it" from the listing of my previous order.... thinking that I would ensure that I'd get the exact same GOOD quality as I got in 2017. The current product is a TOTAL RIP OFF.... I don't know what Medine is up to, but you can be sure I won't trust them any future orders.
I bought these to use while my child was night training. I got sick of cleaning sheets over and over, so these were the perfect addition to avoid cleaning the entire bed sheet set from a tiny accident. They are decent size, stay in place well, and launder fine with no tears or curling on the ends. I wash in cold and dry on low. After we are 100% finished with the occasional nighttime accidents, I plan to use these for when we go to the local beach and the kids have wet suits. These will be perfect for protecting the seats in the car from getting too wet. I may also use them on the rarely used furniture in our living room because the kittens like to sleep on that furniture and it would look better to use these than the Dora and Lalaloopsy blankets we have up there right now. :)

My goal is to provide a thorough review to assist others with their purchase, as there are many choices on Amazon and I personally rely on reviews when making most of my purchases. If my review was helpful to you, please choose “yes” below. Otherwise, choose “no” and please leave a constructive comment and I will take your thoughts and/or suggestions into consideration for future reviews.
This was a gift to a care giver of a demented family member. She reported that the underpads did not keep moister from passing through despite the claim that it does. She said she had older and better products that does what she needs it to do, she says that she may as well have had a folded sheet under them. Thin and not recommended for elderly care.
I really should have bought these sooner. For some reason I thought that my daughter would be fully potty trained in no time. That of course was just wishful thinking. I bought tons of disposable pads before I finally gave up and got these. The disposable pads are a pain to pull off all the tape covers and position on the bed. If it was a dry night the pad was just about ruined anyway because they are so cheaply made.

These pads are way way better!!! They keep all the wet on the pad (just like the disposable) but to easy to throw on and off. If it was wet in the morning I would just fold it up and put it in the laundry room and it honestly never smelled. End of the week I ran them through the washer and came out good as new! I think we've used these pads for well over 6 months and they show zero signs of wear. Still just as absorbent and I can't tell you how much $$$$$ I saved from finally switching!!
The Sofnit 300 Medline pads from two years ago that were made in the USA were much better than these new pads that are now imported from China that obviously use inferior materials - especially the pink underside. After only approximately 20 washings this pink moisture proof layer on these new pads are becoming brittle, uncomfortable and difficult to fold. The pads from two years ago are still soft, comfortable and fold very nicely. Until Medline decides to stop importing these poorly made pads from China, I would recommend looking elsewhere.
I purchased these after reading a few reviews, in particular one that said they used it for their parent. My mom is a recovering stroke survivor. Unfortunately, she occasionally suffers from incontinence and I had been using 3 older model Medline mattress protectors and invested in more in order to not have to run a load on an almost daily basis. I was under the impression that the negative reviews were due to improper washing of these pads. I followed all the laundry instructions that are on the pads...washed in cold water, no fabric softener. Sad to say not only did they not hold up, I now have a mattress that I will be replacing soon. I usually keep a mattress protector as well but was washing it. If you're a caregiver for an adult person, don't purchase these. Not sure how they hold up on smaller accidents but they seriously failed me.
