Nice and sharp. I've only used it on fruits and vegetables but it does a nice job on cabbage, potatos and mushrooms. The safety food tool works pretty well at holding the whatever I'm slicing and keeping my fingers out of the blade. It also has a nice off mode where blade is guarded from nicks and cutting stuff.

I love this because I can very quickly thin slice onions and tomatoes for a sandwich or salad. I even slice leftover steak into thin strips to put in a salad or on a sandwich. Cleans up in a jiffy. As always use caution because this device is very sharp.
Love that it doesn't have a lot of parts. Just dial in thickness you want. Love that it sits and is stable on a bowl or pan. Just rinse and dry after. Easy to store. Locks so can't cut yourself when not using.
Just wish it made thicker cuts. Thickest is less than a quarter inch.
This product is flawless. Just watch your fingers cause this thing is slicing as fast as you can move. I bought three because I want to have these as long as I live!!
I purchased my OXO mandoline slicer more than a decade ago. It is easy to use and it still works very well. I also own other OXO products and every item has performed well. It is good to know there are brands made of quality materials that you can count on to do the job efficiently.
Works great, very sharp, I just wish you had a little thicker choice of slices. The thickest adjustment is still too thin for some veggies. Other than that great little slicer. Make sure you use the finger protector ! lol
Beware!! I do everything quickly and without realizing it, I cut my fingers pretty badly with this device. I was slicing small cucumbers that wouldn't work with the holder that they provide. Other than that this thing is amazing. Sliced the cucumbers(and fingers) in less than a minute each.
So I purchased this cheaper basic mandolin because I didn't want to pay for the ones with the glove and extra safety precautions. Welp, there is a reason you need the extra safety precautions with mandolins.

I was slicing potatoes and talking to my mom. The blade was super sharp and I was beyond excited with how quickly I was slicing that potato. I mean, it was like 2-3 seconds before I was getting to the end of the potato. There is a little gripper that you use to hold the potato or whatever you are slicing, but it doesn't "grab" the potato when it is full sized, only when it is small and close to being fully sliced. So right when the potato was small enough to use that gripper thing, and I was getting ready to stop slicing, I sliced the corner of my index finger off. 100% my fault, but as a first time user of a mandolin, I didn't appreciate the need for those extra safety features with the more expensive mandolins.

Unless you are an expert mandolin user, I would highly highly suggest you consider purchasing the mandolins with the extra safety features. Your fingers will appreciate it.
The OXO Good Grips Mandoline slicer is very easy to use and to clean up.

Always use the safety handle, to keep food still and protect your fingers. Very sharp. There’s a slider for different thickness of slices. Works very well
