8/29/2021 - 4th update

Still using this trash can. Looks very much as it did from day one. No dents. Some minor signs of wear but nothing noticeable to someone not looking for it. Operates just as it did from day 1. It is used daily and batteries require replacement about every 18 months. My oldest son loved it so much he bought one for his first home. When it finally gives out, I hope the same item is available for repurchase because I will replace it immediately. Worth every penny and then some.

5/6/2018 - 3rd update.

It's been 10 months and this thing still looks brand new and works as well as it did the day I got it. It's used multiple times every day and I've replaced the batteries only once. I hope it lasts, at least, another 10 months but I'll be buying again if and when it ever breaks.

Updating my review to 5 stars today. It's been 4 and a half months. I've only had to replace the batteries once so far. It is still working perfectly and almost everyone who sees it wants to know where I bought it. I was worried about the exterior getting dents. It's been knocked over a few times and it still looks brand new. Not even a tiny dent or scratch. It's super easy to wipe clean when needed. The lid has been removed countless times to change the trash bag but still fits snuggly like it did on day 1. Really glad I purchased this.

Today, I like it ... but I understand most of the negative reviews.

The trash can looks sharp. I'm decorating a new home and was torn between certain trash cans. A trash can isn't exactly an item you want showcased in your kitchen and this one definitely stands out ... but I was intrigued by the touch-free feature and it is only $10 more than the last plastic trash can I purchased. I decided to pull the trigger and give it a try ... with low expectations.

It came decently packaged but not protected enough to withstand dents/damage had anything terribly heavy been tossed on the box during transit. The trash can is thin and not nearly as sturdy as your typical plastic containers ... but probably sturdy enough if you are careful with it. Some people have complained that their lids did not fit properly. I can see this occurring quite easily. Some buyers have complained about the lid not sealing well enough to keep out odors. I don't toss things in my trash that could stink up my kitchen so this would never be an issue for me. This container is operated by 4 AA batteries. I cannot review battery life yet though I will update this in a few months.

The trash can opens easily and in a timely manner. We don't have to wave our hand over the sensor. We simply place our hand or the trash directly over the lid and it opens immediately. I do wish it would close sooner. There is 6-7 second delay. The trash can also produces a noise when the lid opens and a louder one upon closing. It's not an offensive sound but noticeable even from the next room.

We are all digging the touch-free feature and I like the stainless steel appearance more than I thought I would. So far, it gets 4 stars. I'll update after we've had a chance to put it to good use. I'm curious how long this thing will last and honestly thinking we'll be lucky to have it functioning and without dents in 6 months. But, for now, we like it and I have no regrets in buying it.

I received my trashcan in the mail and immediately unboxed it, put AA batteries (wrapped in paper towel to make C batteries) and it came on right away! It was packaged nicely and secure…delivered with care (for a change) and works just fine. Glad I made the purchase!

This is a very sturdy garbage can that couldn’t be easier to use and open. All you do is flash your hand over the top to open and it works. It looks sleek and holds just as much as a tall garbage can. The only downside is having to buy batteries every 1.5 years.

I have bought a more expensive version of this touchless trash can several times and they break. The replacement lid for my other one was more expensive than an entire new one of this brand.
It takes 4-C cell batteries and set up is easy.
This one seems solid so far and it is happy the price. Just know if the lid falls, they can break rather easily. The trash can came extremely well packaged. But this brand is great so far and I would definitely buy one again.

This trashcan works great! It is a little bit noisier than my previous trashcan, which had soft close. This one slams shut but I can live with it. I do a lot of cooking so it’s very important to me to have a trashcan that not only closes and seals but having the hands-free feature. Last year I had my home remodeler cut a hole in my butcher block top, specifically for my trashcan. That trashcan died and they don’t make it any longer. I was completely thrilled to find a trashcan that was an exact fit. The dimensions are mentioned twice and neither one of them is correct. It’s actually 16.1” x 11.37 x 23.5” in case anyone needs to know like me. The top of it fits perfect on the bottom of my other one (which is 5” taller) so I’ll be using it instead. I think I’m going to buy a second one of these as a back up so I will have a trashcan that fits for many years to come.

So I bought this garbage can, and it works and looks great! I love it! You can get the batteries or not, but it calls for C batteries and it works great! It fits right in my small kitchen.

Good Value for the money. It does work great. Sensor can be finicky at times. It may open as you pass by. Or it may not open when you have something in front of it. Lot of times I just hit open. I do recommend it. It's just quirky.

 I got this to replace my Nine Star brand motion sensor trash bin. I was highly disappointed in that one because I paid close to $100 and it stopped working correctly after two months of use (lid would only open 60% of the way; would open 100% with fresh batteries but return to 60% after a few weeks of use). The trash bin failed to open all together after a little over 2 years of use.

That said, I had my doubts about this one so I decided to use it for a few months first before leaving a review. Andddd so far so good! Sensor is responsive. Lid still opens all the way and stays open for about 8 seconds. I’ve also have not changed the batteries yet. The only thing I’ve noticed coming from my old trash bin is that it is slightly smaller.

I bought this garbage bin last year after the one i was using for a couple of years reached the end of its life. From the get go the lid was always touch and go and slow in response. Recently it just started to make a buzz sound like it had something blocking it although it was clear. Then started not to open. I changed the battery multiple times but no change. I contact the seller to try to replace the lid and they refused. So basically you are paying for a mediocre bin that will last a year and then you have to buy another one as they dont even sell replacement parts
