Does the job. Made shredding and sliding very easy. Tested it on dicing strawberries for the baby and shredding cabbage, onions and carrots. Defiantly better than hand choppng.
Was switching blades out (the one the slices n shreds at the same time) and accident nipped my thumb n bleed:( so be careful of the little sharp teeth blades that poke out when changing to diff thing and cleaning/washing it.
Don’t like how you gotta use a lot of force to press down n chop(used it on onions). Wish was easier than banging it down. Have to pre-slice it thin.
Wish it was longer and wider and had more grip and wish it had height difference (angled and sloped) for easier glide n shred.
Wish the lid part stayed on more snug and secure cause I had to hold it down incase it flipped open.
Overall recommend as a first impression kitchen appliance.
This thing is amazing. I use it to dice onions, celery and carrots. I slice cucmbers and potatoes with it and I use it to make french fries. The blades are super sharp and work good. The only drawback for me is I wish there was a sliceer that cut just a bit thicker. Maybe they could offer an add on pack of different cutters and maybe a cleaning tool for the dicer also. I read where some complained about cracking the base. If you pay attention and insert the top as described in the instructions, you'll have no problems whatsoever. It's a heavy, sturdy base. Overall it's a very well made item. Cleaning the dicer attachment can be interesting but taking your time and being careful it'll come clean. Don't forget to keep your fingers and hands away from the blades as they are extremely sharp.
If you use your kitchen even a tiny bit, this is essential. Great gift idea!
Pros:
The one I got was completely new and super sharp. Lost a little but of skin looking at the quality but I'm not complaining lol.
Very easy to assemble and mess with. It does take a careful person or at least some self-awareness or hand-eye coordination to not get near the blades especially if your hands get sticky or wet while preparing where hands slipping is common.
No cons but things to note:
There's a lot of crevices and some blades have tiny screws(?) Not really screws but I know metal-looking shiny things can still cause problems regardless. I have never had problems but when you leave fruit/veggie juices and pieces drying on anything or soaking in dirty soapy water for too long, it's harder to clean. Just quickly run a scrub thru it and rinse it right away. Easy peas clean up and blades last longer.
Please use the safety holder and cleaning fork! They were made with the perfect size for this chopper.
There's no way to store it. I'm glad most of the sharp parts have a little cup for them but other than that, there's no bag or box that came with it to properly protect all of it and for a "pro-series", you'd think it would come with one or at least come with a bigger food container to hold it all. I already have a little basket for it in my cabinet so I can't complain but if I didn't, I would give it a 4 stars instead due to selling little sharp objects should have a safeguard of some sort.
I've been using choppers to make chopped salad without even using a plate, cutting board or knife. Just chop everything in here, take off the lid, add toppings and dressing and fork it for lunch.
As a mom of 7, I need to save time where I can. Plus, who the heck wants to spend forever cutting onions
