I ordered this in a queen and it got here in much less time than expected which was a nice surprise. As I was putting it together, however, I realized that one of the pieces had been welded together backwards so that one hole was on the wrong side which made it impossible to assemble.

I tried calling Zinus and failed to get through to anyone multiple times so I emailed and it took a week for them to reply asking for my order confirmation (which I had already provided in my first email) so I replied with it again and waited another week to get a response telling us that we would have to contact amazon instead.

By this time it had been nearly a month and I had gotten sick of seeing it in pieces on the floor in my bedroom so I decided to take matters into my own hands. I ended up buying drill bits for metal and drilling a hole in it myself instead of going through another customer service battle. The hole is hidden and you would never be able to tell looking at the bed.

Once it was together it looked true to the picture and was a surprisingly sturdy product for the price. Just pray you get all the correct pieces and don’t have to deal with their customer service!

The frame seems sturdy and looks very nice once properly assembled. However, there was an issue with the one we ordered. It was soldered/drilled wrong such that a necessary hole did not line up on one side. We double and triple checked the directions, pictures, and brought in a few friends/family just to get other opinions, hoping someone would point out what we were doing wrong. But no, the product shipped to us had been welded/drilled wrong and we were left with a frame that could not be put together. With a half assembled frame and torn up packaging, we didn't much fancy dealing with a return, so we made our measurements, got out the metal drill bits, and drilled an additional hole where there should have been one and it worked! The frame is now sturdy and functional. However, having heard nothing from the company and having no way to contact them about this bad unit, I cannot recommend them.

We're really impressed with this frame.

Got this as a kind of temporary solution until we move out of our apartment and buy a place. Figured it would be decent enough to last a year or so, but didn't have super high expectations for build quality and fit/finish. How good can a king size frame be for around $260, right?

Well it's actually pretty great.

First of all I was struck by how hefty the box was. It weighed a lot more than I expected and that's because the metal components are really solid and the wood panels are a decent size and thickness (and yes they're real wood). The construction of the frame and how it screws together seems well engineered and I was able to assemble the frame by myself in around a half hour. Would have been even faster with a little help, but it was not difficult to do myself. The way it's built, you can take it apart in a few bigger pieces without disassembling the whole bed, so moving it should be pretty straightforward and low hassle. Assembly instructions are very clear and the number of steps is pretty minimal.

Once assembled, the bed has no wobble, does not make any rickety noises, and feels very solid. Vigorous activity does not cause the headboard to smack into the wall, in case you were wondering.

Another plus for me is that with a thick enough mattress, the footboard does not rise nearly as high as it appears to in the photos. We have a Tuft and Needle mattress with a memory foam topper and it is about level with the footboard. I don't really care for high footboards, so that's a win in my book.

So, we got a way better bed frame than we expected and now we're not so sure we'll be looking to replace this one any time soon. It's plenty sturdy and really does look nice. Has kind of a mild industrial look to it without being overly trendy.

Warning: do not buy this. The quality is so cheaply made and will fall apart in no time. The wood pieces started cracking within one week of minimal use. The company wanted me to ship the broken pieces to them in order to get a replacement. They would not give a refund or send a whole new frame due to the poor quality. I would have given 0 stars if possible.

Zinus is not worth the hassle of having to return their poorly manufactured products. Assembling the bed I found the parts in the last step were the wrong size. These are the two small feet that support the center of the bed. Mine were about 1/2" too tall meaning the rest of the frame does not make contact with the floor and is unstable. I contacted Zinus and was told they couldn't help so my option is to disassemble the bed, package it, return it, get a new bed, reassemble, and possibly have faulty parts again. It would make more sense to receive replacement parts considering how small the parts I need are. There is no way for me to fix the parts without welding and cutting steel.

I bought this bed frame to furnish my new apartment in preparation for my wedding and this really was a wonderful product.

The instructions were clear and simple, every piece was labeled with a small sticker that clearly marked how the bed frame was supposed to be put together. The construction is very sturdy, I don't have any worries at all that this would be able to take the weight of any size person and mattress that owns it. It's a solid dark, burnished metal frame with well-polished wood trim accents that makes a wonderful addition to our new home.

There's no creaking whenever the mattress moves, because the frame is so solid, and I haven't had to worry about anything breaking or weak pieces or issues with the construction of the bed frame! The bottom of the frame that supports your mattress is a lining of cedar slats that velcro onto the frame, and there's even an added rubber strip down the center line that keeps your mattress from making noise as it moves around. I'm thankful and very satisfied with this purchase, and I know that it'll keep my bed and mattress solid for probably the next many years.

UPDATE: I see they’ve now updated the sample photos to better reflect the true colour.
Had this bed 1 year now and it’s holding up well.

The colour that is portrayed in the photo is NOT what you will receive.
The headboard is a cheap bright orange colour, instead of a dark espresso colour that is shown in the photos.
Also, the headboard did have some slight damage to it as well.

Amazon customer service did offer a discount or for me to return it.
I have decided to keep the bed, sand it down and stain it since it would be a pain to ship back.
I will update the review once it's built and I can test the quality.

We have bought the zinus bed frame when looking for a solid and low profile. The steel frame structure is very well build and easy to assemble. The only complain we have was the colors of the headboard and the foorboard of the bed who dosen't match the description. It was suppose to be cherry pine wood, but it arrived in a kind of yellowish colors from de 70's. Because amazon offer us a discount, we have decided to keep it, but we have sanded, dye and varnish the headboard and the the footboard of the bed. It took me a full day to do it.

With our Endy Mattress there is no motion transfer and the bed is silent when we toss and turn in the night, no squeaks, no fuss no bother! Easy to set up, and everything fit together perfectly. The only complaint I might have is that we wish the bed was a bit taller as we are both tall, however the dogs love it as they can jump in easily! However our bed we replaced was so tall we almost needed a ladder to get in, so just a bit of having to get used to the lower level. The price was excellent, we are very pleased.

I bought the King size frame. It was initially delivered to my mother's home and we had to move it to my new home. I thought it might involve a moving van but to my surprise it only involved the assistance of my brother. He and I managed to move this easily and fit it into my Ford focus hatchback.

The bed is easy to assemble as the frame has letters matching all the parts. Instructions were easy to understand. We have this on carpeted flooring so I am unsure how stable this would be on a laminate floor. No creaks or squeaks after 2 months of use so far. We put a memory foam mattress on top and it has stayed in place nicely with no sliding as there are some adhesive strips on the wooden slats.

I was originally concerned that the wooden slats would not be strong enough but so far so good.

I didn't do much shopping around so I can't really say if this is a good value for this type of frame but I feel it was good value so far. Nice wooden design.
