I was looking for an organization solution that was better than the "basket of shoes". I also wanted a top shelf for pocket items out the door (e.g. keys). This fit my needs with a slim, minimalist form and feel.
The quality was higher than expected, but is exactly the size and stability I expected. The description illustrations are deceiving, but the listed dimension measurements are correct (see pictures for average shoe reality). Logically, you will want the heavier items at the bottom. When I purchased the shelving, I was expecting to glue the slats together, but that is not necessary because they fit together fairly snugly. I am considering anchoring the top shelf to the wall with an L bracket for added stability and tip prevention. The construction was obvious, easy, quick, and without tools. While the quality is higher than expected at this price, you would still be able to damage or break pieces if you use too much force or weight.
I gave 4 stars because the item shipped with 1 less of the slim-tab legs (19) and 1 more of the wide-tab legs (5). What this means is that I am unable to place the 7th tier because the wide-tab legs do not interlock with the legs below them (they are the bottom legs). I could easily cut down the wide-tab leg to fit if I wanted. However, I decided that I do not want the shelf that tall anyways. In addition, I would also be happy with a 5 tier version for my needs as well as the relative stability reduction from adding more tiers. From an engineering perspective, the wide-tab legs are not necessary since they did not seem to add extra stability to the base shelf anyways.
Overall I am fully satisfied with the shelf because it meets my needs and was worth the price I paid. I would recommend this shelf for shoes, small clothing items, or even minimalist decorative needs.
I got the 12 tier.
Sturdy, lightweight, real bamboo which looks nice.
it is smaller than the proportions pictured, but definitely a 10x10 footprint.
The shoes pictured on my shelf are Womens US sizes 8 and 10, to give an idea of how shoes fit. It fit well for my needs, but may not be good for someone with larger shoes.
I like this shoe shelf a lot, it looks great, and it is relatively sturdy. The other reviewer was right about putting the heaviest items at the bottom and lighter shoes on top for stability. We put our steel toed boots on the bottom and the shelf has been stable, no issues with it swaying.
I gave 4 stars because while I love the shelf, I did get several splinters during assembly.
No big deal though, bamboo splinters are easy to remove. No other complaints with the item. Glad I got it.
I needed a small vertical shoe rack for slippers, and thought I'd give this a try. It's a pretty shelf, useful for lots of things besides shoes. It's also surprisingly sturdy, especially for something is held together without glue or hardware.
The assembly instructions are not written the best, but it was easy to figure out. You'll need to be firm and even when pressing the pieces together. Knocking down one star because the dimensions in the description are not accurate (although it actually did turn out to be roomy enough to accommodate a pair of running shoes) and because it wants to lean a little (not enough to make me worry, but I might anchor it to the wall).
My shoe size is 7_7.5 and it fits in there but for larger shoes like my husband's which is size 10.5, this shoe rack is small. In the pictures they have used with the description of the product, this shoe rack looks bigger. Because we have another place for our shoes other than this one which was not enough , this will help for smaller shoes.
Not as strong/sturdy as I thought it was, but otherwise, fits in small places, the whole reason I got it.
UPDATE: It's ok, difficult to put together really have to hammer supports in and parts are not marked, a little confusing. However, it's packed really well, looks decent, and steady on carpet, I would not put in my living room, but works in spare bedroom. Do not have children so I do not worry about it toppling over. I just keep sandals size 7&8 and a purse in slots, my biker boots would not fit, this has a small footprint, but that is why I got it so am happy with that. Late delivery, AGAIN, it's really irritating when A-mazon says next day delivery and I get a text saying - sorry it's delayed. I pay for Prime, feel like prime is really not doing their job. Will update when I get the shelves.
I wear a 6.5 my shoes just fit. Wish it was bigger. Easy assembly
I ordered this shoe rack to be used for my 5 year old son's shoes (due to reading that only smaller shoes will fit).
CON: After compleating building most of the racks I noticed one of the shelves is missing 1 out of 4 of the the slots that the connecting strip is supposed to fit into. I tried to see if there was a way for me to reach out to the seller to resolve this by getting a replacment part without having to take the whole thing apart but I do not see a way.
PRO: Good for small items and child sized shoes. Feels flimsy till you put items on the racks then gravity does it's thing. Nice to not have to deal with tools and screws that can strip the wood.
