Since I have an older home, I inherited some issues when I bought it. At my sink there is separation at the seal between the counter top and sink basin. The former owners used some type of waterproofing material to patch it up, but it just a patch and it's getting old. Why fix when I'll eventually replace. Meanwhile, I was always wiping up water from using faucet to do dishes. That's why I bought this product. It's helping for sure. Always dry underneath. The mat is a total of 4" from front to back. At the last inch nearest the wall there is a crease meant to fold up at the wall or backsplash, to give it a 'backsplash affect. At the front nearest the sink basin there are spots to help direct and water to drain back into the sink when water lands on it. At the center is a cut out that has 4 slits to enable you to fit it around the faucet. If they didn't do that, it wouldn't universally fit most sink faucets. At first i wasn't liking that feature much, but discovered that if i pulled it snug by tugging at the back where it's creases, I could get a much tighter fit and any water that may dribble down from touching the faucet with wet hands or splashing back up from washing dishes and either drain back to the sink or just lie on the mat. Every now and then I make sure it's snug against to wall. ( I don't have a backsplash...older home blues). If you have kids constantly at your sink who most likely won't keep their eye on making sure it's snug and you're not always there right behind them, it may not fully fit your purpose. That's the only reason I didn't give a 5star. But, otherwise, it does the trick.
I recently purchased the Kitchen Sink Splash Guard - Silicone Faucet Handle Drip Catcher Tray, excited to have a solution that could keep my kitchen counter clean and organized. While the splash guard offers some benefits, I found the size to be a significant limitation, leading to a three-star rating.
The standout feature of this splash guard is its silicone material, which is easy to clean and maintain. The drip catcher tray effectively collects water and soap drips from the faucet handle, preventing them from pooling on the counter. Additionally, the integrated dish soap dispenser and sponge holder are practical additions that help streamline my kitchen space.
The concept of a splash guard to keep my kitchen counter dry and tidy is appealing, and this product delivers on that front to some extent. The silicone material feels durable and flexible, making it easy to install and adjust as needed.
However, my disappointment stems from the size of the splash guard. It proved to be too small for my particular faucet configuration, leaving gaps around the faucet that allowed water to escape onto the counter. This negated the primary purpose of the splash guard and didn't fully address the issue of water splashes and drips.
Additionally, the sponge holder is on the smaller side, accommodating only smaller sponges. Larger sponges or scrub brushes may not fit comfortably, limiting its practicality for various cleaning tools.
While the integrated dish soap dispenser is a nice touch, the size of the compartment is relatively small, requiring more frequent refills. A larger dispenser would have been more convenient for users who use a considerable amount of dish soap regularly.
Moreover, the splash guard's design could be improved to ensure a more secure fit around different faucet styles and sizes. A more customizable and adjustable design would make this product more versatile and appealing to a wider range of customers.
In conclusion, the Kitchen Sink Splash Guard - Silicone Faucet Handle Drip Catcher Tray has some useful features, such as the drip catcher tray and the integrated dish soap dispenser and sponge holder. The silicone material is durable and easy to clean, adding to its convenience.
However, the limited size and design hinder its overall effectiveness, as it may not fit all faucet configurations snugly. For users with larger or uniquely shaped faucets, this splash guard may not provide the desired level of protection from water splashes and drips.
While it worked adequately for my specific needs, I recommend potential buyers to carefully consider their faucet size and shape before purchasing this splash guard. For those with larger or unconventional faucet designs, alternative options may offer a better fit and performance.
Loved the color but wanted black, just didn’t think paying $3 more for a color was worth it. My sink faucet has a raised component around it, which makes this lie awkwardly, yet it’s better than not having it. It does the job of keeping that part of my sink free of water and mold, which was exactly why I wanted it.
Only dislike is that the water does not drain into the sink
Fits well
Didn’t think I needed this but found it so handy…great place to put scrub bud… drains water well.
I got the grey color it’s nice color I also got the small size and it’s not as small as it appears a bit bigger than what I was expecting.
Purchased several for kitchen sink. None were keepers. Fit was off.
This one I tried in our RV. FITS LIKE A GLOVE. My advice. Measure carefully. Looks great. However, I have not used as yet but I know it will be awesome.
Product works mostly as intended and keeps the sink area tidy, but there are small gaps on the rear of the mat which allow excess water to run out the back instead of the two channels at the front if you don't occasionally lift the back to drain it.
It does exactly as described and advertised. And it can fit in a narrow space. It’s flexible.
