This is an interesting concept for a pillow. It's adjustable in how you configure the four individual pieces. I also like the fact that the covers zip off for cleaning and it's memory foam.

What I found I didn't like as much is that while it is soft, it's also firm. After a while (if I'm sleeping) it gets a little uncomfortable because I don't sink in as much as sit on top. So I can't roll a bit on my side using this very comfortably, but I could on my last pillow because it was cotton filled and very plushy - you kind of sank into that one. You can adjust this to sit up more or lay back more, you can use the neck roll at the neck or the back of the head. Sometimes I use it between my knees. I also sometimes use the leg rest for my head.... so you can really alter the ways you use this.

But it is sufficient to use as a stand-alone, no extra pillows are necessary for comfort. I won't return it, but I was hoping it would be a little more plushy.

I bought this to help me with my recovery after a double mastectomy. After my surgery I hot home and tried it. It does not work the pillows slide and do not stay in place. I tried to get a refund and the seller will not do it because it is part the 30 days. That's terrable customer service. I understand it is over the 30 days but it has been like 45 days not like its months.

Due to chronic pain I have not been able to sleep in bed for 1 1/2 years. I kept trying to figure out a way to sleep comfortably in bed. Someone in my support group recommended Avana Kind Bed to me. I bought this for after shoulder surgery (labrum) as a way to sleep upright without sleeping in a recliner. I'm only 2 days out from my surgery, but it has been wonderful. I've used it as shown in the picture, but have also used just one or two of the pillows along with my regular pillows. The ability to move things around has been REALLY useful.

Update: Two weeks out from surgery and I'm still using the pillows. I often use a mix of the pillow system and my regular pillows. As someone who cannot sleep on their back or upright, these pillows have really helped.

I unrolled it ( slightly skeptical ) and watched it fluff right up!! And guess what? No smell at all. I used it for the first time to lay and bed and read within 4 hrs of it arriving. Oh! My! Goodness!!!! I can honestly say this is the best purchase I have ever made! I am not kidding. I typically read in bed for about two hours before going to sleep and usually wake up with neck aches and headaches. This morning I woke up refreshed with no pain!!! I spent nearly $300 last year on a piece of garbage so-called "sleep system" and it was a total disaster! Now, for less than half of that I am sleeping and enjoying the best sleep system I've ever had! The Avana is an absolute dream! Every piece of it is designed with such care and understanding of the human body and how we sleep that I am upset I didn't discover it sooner! I have used the systems in ALL the positions that are depicted in the illustration that comes with the system and all of them are enjoyable! I was afraid that the memory foam was going to be too soft to provide the support that I was looking for, but I was pleasantly surprised and continue to sleep almost the night through now that I am using it. I must disclose that I not only have Fibromyalgia, but also degenerative discs in my neck and my lower spine, as well as mild Scoliosis, so I was looking for something that really would work. Thank God I found it! I am extremely pleased with the system and as soon as my son gets in his new apartment, I will be buying one for him as well. Best money I've ever spent on a sleep system! I purchased this in lieu of a very expensive bed mechanism that raises the head of one's mattress. It works perfectly. Before, I used a number of pillows to bolster myself up ... and I always seemed to experience pain when I got up from the bed (I had back surgery a couple of years back). With the Avana system, I'm getting the lower back support I need when sitting up in my bed ... and when I have occasion to to rise, there is no pain. This is wonderful! I highly recommend this pillow system back pain sufferers.
