Looks like the photo so you get what you see. 1 board had a chip about the size of my thumb nail on the top side (of course) so i put it on the bottom towards the back & it’s not as noticeable. The black metal also has scratches in a few places but I don’t notice any damage now that it’s put together. Also the nuts have the wrong letter on the package so it took a second to figure out what the picture meant (pic attached).Wasn’t hard to put together but I made a mistake by not making sure the side panels both had the middle connector holes so I had to take one apart then reassemble correctly. Bought this for our office, and was a little hesitant to without any reviews. Took a chance anyways and am SO glad I did! This is a gorgeous piece that is industrial and chic. It could really go either way. The assembly was a bit hard with the directions being vague, and we ended up putting the side pieces in incorrectly and had to disassemble (the middle attaches the sides) so just watch out for that. Very sturdy and can hold a lot of weight. We love it! Everyone loves this bookshelf when they come in. it’s unique and big! I put this together alone and it took me a couple times of taking it apart after I had already put it together to get it finalized. Which was super frustrating. You read the instructions and you’re like oh yeah of course it goes that way but then you get to putting it together and put the x braces on the wrong side because the middle shelves can only be screwed into specific holes already made. Beautiful piece, easy assembly. Came defective on one of the sides... it did not have the holes to attach the last shelf. Contacted the manufacturer suggested I drill the holes myself or wait until piece was back in stock for replacement... Ended up drilling the holes and got 40 dll refund This shelf looks nice and seems stable. I gave four stars because of scratches on one of the metal uprights. Another reviewer had the same thing, so I'm guessing it's a packaging issue. Looks like the metal rubbed against something in the box. The shelf looks like the photos and the dimensions are accurate. Each wood shelf is not perfectly level but much better than I anticipated for this price. There is not way to adjust the wood shelves to make them level. There are metal feet that get threaded into the bottom and it was quick and easy to adjust so that all feet sit on the floor evenly. I would recommend this product. What a great shelving system! We needed the shelves to fill a really large wall so we bought two shelving systems and were able to assemble them together as one large unit. We did this and were left with one fully functional shelf unit to use in another room. Assembly is really easy but hard on the wrists. If you don’t have a super small screw gun this’ll take a toll on your hands and wrists. It comes with little screw drivers so you can reach the screws in the small areas but, like I said, the screws require some muscle to get them to go in. Overall, this system was a great purchase. The only drawback is that they provide white zip-ties to anchor the units to the wall. We swapped them out for black ties so they weren’t as noticeable. You’ll DEFINITELY want to anchor them to the wall because they are tall and narrow - perfect combination for accidental tipping. Once anchored, however, they are sturdy and look great! Btw-they are not real wood...but that pretty much goes without saying considering the price. I was VERY IMPRESSED with the quality and design. Well made. We have it in the living room, looks very crisp and clean. I may buy another for the office room. The only thing is the instructions, could be a bit better but such a minor point. Everything went together well. Follow directions and don't tighten frame fasteners all the way till you get the frame assembled. Very well packed. Arrived very quickly. Pros: Sturdy, looks nice, no parts missing. No damaged part. The wood shelves are laminate, not actual wood.Minor Cons: fairly easy assembly - does require two people (not for weight, but for awkwardness of assembly) - the directions are all graphic based and a bit confusing to follow. There is also an error on one of the screw designations in the instructions. So, if this is your first assembly you may have a bit of trouble. There are many holes to put the screws through in the framing and if you have the framing reversed in the wrong, you won't be able to connect the two units together without disassembly and turning the frames around.
