I almost avoided buying it because of the worst reviews I've ever read about a product!
I don't have time for reviews but I feel that great injustice was done to this product!
this is just about the best quality particle board furniture I have ever seen! the boards themselves are very dense (and heavy...) and look (cross sections) a;most like wood. The finish is close to perfect: right angles, neat and clean. It's complicated to assemble but the instructions are very good and the part are marked well. The design is really nice and versatile. I am using it in my study not the kitchen.
RE the bad reviews: complaints about the package arriving damages are not the product or manufacturers fault. Those who complaint about the fact that the doors didn't fit well don't know how to assemble. Like other kitchen cabinets and vanities one may and need to adjust the hinges with a screw driver. Inval were very responsive and helpful and sent to me so,e extras thought later I realized that it was my mistake and the package included everything needed. The only fault was a slight bend of one of the drawer's bottom but the mail a replacement.
This review might sound as if it was written by the seller/manuf or family; it's not! I love it!
I really love this cabinet!!I bought it to hold appliances to free up counter space I have a water purifier coffee pot on the top and my kitchen aid mixer, food processor, baking pans stored away in the bottle The instructions just have pictures but it was easy to figure out and put together it did take about 2 hr to put together I’m very happy lady with my purchase don’t let bad reviews scare you from buying this.
I really like this cabinet. I bought it to hold appliances to free up counter space. I had hoped my toaster oven would fit above the microwave, but the shelf was too narrow so we placed it below. The instructions just have pictures so I would not recommend purchasing this product if you do not have a lot of experience putting this type of furniture together. It would also be nice if this cart had locking casters as it is very heavy. I was able to put it together myself but I’d to have someone help me lift it upright when finished.
Stylish and sturdy.
If I could give this zero stars I would. After spending this much money and a few hours putting it together I am completely disappointed in this product. The doors at the bottom have a half inch gap between them. My bottom drawer will not shut all the way because the door is in the way and all three drawers are off center. I have everything as tight as it will go and it is extremely wobbly and unstable. There is a space between the side and the upper right door. The overhead shelf door is not flush with the top. I could keep going.. anything that could be wrong with this thing is. Will definitely be calling tomorrow to ask for a full refund. I'm just pissed I have to spend even more time taking it all apart and find a way to ship this defective thing back.
First off, let me just say that anything you buy for $200 on the internet that you need to assemble yourself isn't going to be some Ethan-Allen quality product. For what it is (a particle board pantry that I will use for two years and then buy something nicer), it's perfect! The packaging was nearly destroyed once I received it, but all the pieces were in fine shape. It fits perfectly and looks very nice in my kitchen, and the storage compartments are a good size.
That being said, the assembly was a nightmare. My boyfriend and his dad - who both have backgrounds in construction - took a collective 3 hours on this beast. If you aren't a handy person, I'd suggest either having someone else put this together for you or buying something else. Right out the chute, it was missing part 'N' and came with two 'L' parts instead. They were able to fix this by drilling the correct holes and just flipping the duplicate piece, but it certainly added to a lot of the frustration. However, there was no way I was going to package this 100-lb item back up and deal with sending it back, and a replacement part would have taken days. For that reason, I did not contact the seller about the issue since it worked out in the end, but it seems like this has been a recurring issue for some other buyers.
All in all, the end-product is great and looks exactly as pictured; the measurements are accurate and it came within the specified delivery window. The assembly was rough and beware of missing pieces.
When I read the reviews about this cabinet I was worried. But the reviews are 50/50. I liked the way the cabinet looked and it would fit perfect in the space I needed for the microwave. I have to say this was the most time consuming item I have ever put together. The hardware comes everything in one bag (photo) it took an hour to separate it. I didn't want to dig thru the bag as I was building. The instructions are easy to understand. It took me FOUR hours to put this together! I have put a lot of this type stuff together over the years, this was the most time consuming. I had never used European hinges, so that took a little learning, to adjust them. One hinge would not tighten, called the company, they repaired it in 4 days! It is particle board, plastic type covering. I got to close to the edge with a nail, putting the back "cover" on (photo) fixed it with glue. The back "cover" comes in 6 pieces and gave me a little problem at first. Over all I like it. It weighs over 100 pounds. Have fun, it would help to have a partner to help put this together.
