Thoroughly pleased! My baby boy 5, loves his new big boy bed. The bed came in two boxes, one long one around 150lbs and a box for the desk, around 30lbs. I purchased the Clay.
I have been in search of a suitable bed for my child for a few months and I choose this bed for a few reasons
1.Solid wood, most of the contenders were not solid and had particle board, I considered the DONCO Kids Low Study Loft Bed, Dark Cappuccino for reference
2.Weight limit, this has a 400 lb weight limit that he can grow into and I don’t have to worry about it breaking down
3.No Proposition 65 Warning
4.Neutral color, he has a dark wood chest of drawers and this fit in with existing decor
5.Desk & storage included as he has a small room
It took two days for install, started on Sunday afternoon at 30pm, finished at 9pm, had whole bed installed except for desk. I took wine breaks lol. Desk installed next day and took 20 minutes. Only needed help to connect side rails, everything else I was able to do on my own because I am a beast at all things. All hardware/wood was accounted for before install and that took some time as well. Instructions (44pages) are visual only and very simple to understand. I only encountered two issues. Item 1A bookcase, I had to swap pieces 19&20 as they were backwards. And I was not able to add one of the corner screws for the desk, hole mismatch possibly, did not want to force it and damage anything, left it be. Pretty sturdy. Due to it being in a temporary location until we move, I did not secure all of the wood slats on the bed frame, just the middle and more than secure. I also skipped the corner bracket install for the desk, it’s pretty solid and can do without. I opted for a 8inch mattress but it think you could probably get away with a 10inch. Also there was a light order from the wood/paint, it has dissipated in the past 24hours. No real damage to the wood, just a nick on one of the shelves and one side of the desk was slightly discolored.
Overall worth the $540, going to put a sheet over front so he can still have a little secret cave to play but this is a great buy. I would suggest this bed. I was pretty hesitant to buy as it had not reviews but here you go.
Perfect and easy to assemble ⭐️
My 7 year old wanted a loft bed so badly that I bought this after some research. The reason I bought this one was...
1. Guardrail of the bed is 14” (2-3 inch higher than other products).
2. Right height: it’s kind of middle of tall loft and low loft, which feels safer but gives under the bed a high enough space for play area.
3. Bookshelves
On delivery, I found 3 pieces of parts got broken, but amazon replaced it right away. It’s not difficult to assemble with two adults. It looks nice. However, even when my 50 lb baby goes up and moves slightly the entire bed WOBBLES. It is not that we didn’t tighten screws...it’s structural/material issue. Now I have to look for a way to bolt it to the wall. If I knew this I wouldn’t have purchased it.
This is a very nice loft bed. It was easy to assemble but needs two people. The wood is good and have no concerns of it falling apart or collapsing. I was looking for something that would hold an adult and child. This was it with a 400 lb limit. It eases my mind that it won’t come crashing down if we climbed up with our kid. It does shake a little when you move while on it but is expected with a loft bed as it’s not anchored to the wall nor does it need to be. The shelves are nice and provides added storage. You can put the shelves and ladder on either side but you have to decide that when you’re building it. We have the ladder on the left and the shelves on the right. You can put the ladder and shelves on the same side if you wanted it that way. We initially bought a twin mattress that was too thick. We ended up returning and getting an 8” mattress. I would not recommend anything more than 8”. Overall, we are happy with the purchase.
My young teen daughter LOVES this bed! Fits her regular twin mattress. Seems sturdy, however my daughter is slim and petite. Shelves came with some minor damage, but fortunately doesn't show. Only option to replace was to send the entire bed back, and that was def not going to happen, so we're just dealing with it. Not quite as tall as a regular loft, which leaves more headspace.
Really fast delivery. When I ordered this, the invoice said I would get it in at least two weeks, but it arrived in two days.
Overall, the quality is great. It doesn't look or feel cheap. There are a few different options for the setup. It's sturdy. We love it. I really like being able to remove the ladder and hide it when my toddler is in the room. The only issues we have are with the directions and the shelves. The directions are all in picture form, which is fine for most steps, but some are confusing and could have used some written clarification. The shelves (not the framing of the shelves, but the flat panels that rest in the frame) are delicate compared to the rest of the bed and all came with broken corners, which is just disappointing, and could probably be avoided if the method of packaging were changed.
This is a great way to make use of a tiny room. The storage space underneath is great! The bed itself is sturdy enough for an adult.
The only cons I have to report were:
1. the instructions were a little unclear. They are all pictures, no words, which is handy for people who speak and read different languages, but it would have been really good to have a little bit of explanation on a couple of the steps. However, I managed it all by myself over a couple of evenings.
2. The ladder and ladder-opening are pretty narrow. If you are an adult with hips, it is a tight squeeze.
But overall, I am very happy with how this turned out and it turned a tiny room into a really useful space.
We bought 2 of these. Our white one came in perfectly fine, but this grey/brown one was damaged all over. Also the ladder was not cut properly and will not reach the ground. Unhappy with the quality of this bed for the money that we paid.
