I just bought this so the review isn't about durability but so far I like how soft it is and that it looks quite nice - not shabby or dull. BUT the measurement instructions on the product page are not accurate. Once I received the product, the instructions that accompanied it, made it very clear that measuring the back of the sofa is the correct way to decide the "Seat Width" - this is not at obvious from the product page description. In fact, the videos show the person measuring across the seat/sitting part of the sofa - but this is not correct and the measurement referred to as "Seat Width" is actually the back part of the sofa. And because of that confusing instruction, I have ended up with something smaller than I wanted. And because returning products on Amazon is such a hassle, like many customers, I too will keep this product. But it's not too bad because unlike some other instances where I've settle for a mediocre product just to avoid the hassle of returns, this one, for now, seems like a pretty good buy. The material is soft and looks nice. I do hope the strap will not snap and cause any harm. Please remove that video showing the person measuring only the seat part of the sofa as your instructions that accompany the product clearly require measuring the back of the sofa to determine 'Seat Width'.
I ordered this item yesterday and received it today. Great customer service Amazon!
I read many reviews and most negative response were about size. So, I did my due diligence and took measurements. The seating of my couch is 79”. I ordered the large sofa size and the fit is perfect. It also came with an elastic band, which I did not consider necessary because I’ve been using blankets and they never slipped off. I should point out my couch is micro fiber, if it were leather I would not expect anything to stay on.
The fabric is a very fine weave microfiber and soft to the touch. I pulled on shorts, and It was the same result. The front apron goes past the bottom edge of the couch; I like lower seating because I'm short and hate when my feet dangle. If you like higher seating, you should have no problem with this cover. Over all I'm super satisfied and will be ordering a chair cover.
The next test will be putting in the wash. I will follow up once that happens.
It fits great. I really like it. I had to take a picture to prove that it came out better than I thought.
Perfect covers! I have, over the course of many dog-filled years, tried many brands of sofa covers. In fact, I recently retired a set of much, much, *much* more expensive covers which only lasted a year. We have 3 crazy little rescue dogs who have their own doggie door and huge fenced yard, so there's a lot of tracking in of dirt, leaves, you name it. And of course as soon as they come in (without wiping their paws!) they hop up onto the furniture. The reviews for these covers here on Amazon are so good, however, and the price so attractive, that I decided to give them a try. They also come in the perfect colors for my den (navy/sand). As soon as I unpacked them I knew I'd done a smart thing. The quality was immediately evident, as well as the generous size of the flaps that go over the arms, back and front of the chairs. I also noted with pleasure that the quilting is not the traditional kind using thread, but is created by heat-sealing along the quilt lines. Since 2 of my previous sets of covers failed when doggie toenails got caught in and broke the thread quilting, I was very happy that the Sofa Shield covers did not have that weakness. They are also the perfect sizes (for a standard sofa and loveseat) and look great!
With time and use I find them very easy to keep in place, even though I have a terrier mix that loves to borrow. Tucking the covers under the sofa cushions prevents that from being a big deal and even if he really paws at them it only takes a few moments to get them back in place. And the best part is how well they launder and how quickly they line-dry (I'm sure they'd dry super-fast in the dryer should I need them more quickly).
I have ordered another sofa-sized cover from which I will make a seat cushion cover for a leather chair that does not require as much protection as the other pieces. In the spring I will order another set in a lighter color--because they are so well-priced that's a nice option I'm looking forward to.
Highly recommended!
I have an arm-less sofa in my home studio, and that is where my two dogs--and sometimes the cat--love to sit/lie/sleep when I'm working. The amount these creatures shed would keep a felting factory forever in business, and keeping the sofa marginally civilized was becoming a full-time job. Enter the Sofa Shield. Fantastique!
1) It fits perfectly! (I measured. If I would have guessed, it would have been wrong--so for any potential buyer, really, measure and get the right size. You'll be so much happier.) Since my sofa has no arms, the arm covers just hang to the side. It looks fine that way, and I like that they hide the view of any dust bunnies under the sofa.
2) I am SO happy to be able to throw this into the washer and dryer, put it back onto the sofa, and voila! Clean, fur-free sofa again. Easy peasy.
3) The dogs enjoy the sofa as much as ever. You can see Emma testing it out in the 3d photo.
Whoever invented this wonderful product should be sainted or get the Nobel Peace Prize. More peace in my studio. Thank you!
Not only do I have to reearrange the couch cover daily (it moves every time someone sits on it so it would be a daily chore getting it to lay flat and nice on my couch), the loops that keep the straps in place broke after 1 year of use. Now I have to either take this broken one into a tailor to get it fixed or I can buy a different, more reliable brand of couch cover.
