This Avocado Keeper does nothing toward maintaining the freshness of an avocado. The old adage: "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is" reflects my experience with this product. Although it was inexpensive, I would not waste my money on this item, oops, too late -- and no return. However, I will not purchase any products made and sold by Progressive International's Prepworks brand.

I cut an avocado in half. I wrapped one half in 2 plies of Glad Cling Wrap. The 2nd half was placed in the avocado keeper. At the end of two days in the refrigerator, the two halves were both browned and looked essentially the same. The photos show before and after.

Perfect. Doesn't keep the avocado from going a little brown--nothing will--but it IS the perfect shape unlike my other containers, and takes up less space. Love it!

I can do better by wrapping an avocado half in a baggie or plastic wrap after a squeeze of lime juice. I did use lime juice with this keeper, but the avocado was still pretty brown a day later, it just allows/encloses too much air inside. What I saved in convenience, I lost in the flesh I had to scrape off.

I have tried this multiple times and it doesn't keep my avocado any fresher than if I leave it out. Took out pit, put face down and still not fresh by the time I want to eat the other half in the morning (12 hours)

I was so sick of the kids wrapping half an avocado in plastic wrap. I had a half dozen laying around the fridge because just threw them anywhere. Now this is the only place they go. No waste, no extra plastic, and keeps them fresh.

Have only tried it once, but kept my avocado nice and green for a couple of days. Compared to having a brown avocado after a few hours in plastic wrap, id say this is a winner

Everything about this avocado “saver” is terrible. Doesn’t do what it is supposed to do my avocado still turns brown. I wouldn’t waste five dollars on this piece of junk ever again, wish I read reviews before I purchased.
