This bed looks adorable. It fits perfectly with our gray and white themed bedroom. I think it's a very good value for the price.
My husband stated that some pilot holes were missing where the main center support connects into the headboard. So he got out our drill and driver for the assembly. As others have stated, it is offgassing a little bit since assembling it. It's not obnoxiously odiferous, but you don't want to huff the off gassing fumes either. I find it a little unsettling since I am aiming for non-toxic/less-toxic items for my family and home...but I knew when I bought it that it was advertised as "low" VOCs, not "NO" VOCs. I couldn't find anything more non-toxic in my search for a trundle bed.
This of course is a softwood as opposed to a hardwood product. I am a little nervous about the durability of it through the years if anyone is less than careful on it. So far, the main bed seems very sturdy and strong. The trundle is rated for 150lbs (which you need to factor that the weight of the mattress factors into the overall weight load). That said, I'm nervous about my kiddo potentially being too rough on the trundle. I am trying to make sure we are careful on that component especially to avoid breaking it. It feels sturdy enough. My 120lb adult self can sleep on it without issue.
I do wish that the design of the trundle face would snugly stow flush with the bed. I don't love that it sticks out in front of the bed frame, but again, I knew this from other people's reviews before I bought it. I can't get everything I want haha. I also feel like some small handles or something at the bottom of the trundle would be a better design, as pulling from the top lip ads a bending strain to the trundle face more so than if the pulling was more structurally supported at the joint of the face and the bottom. I wonder if eventually it will fatigue the joint and the face will break where it meets with the bottom.
For the price, I feel like this is a really good purchase. Is it heirloom quality? Probably not will it last my kid and a sleepover guest for several years? I believe it will. I'm happy with my purchase.
Ps. I did add the warranty just in case the bed is not tough enough to handle normal use from a child.
The quality of the bed is very nice, the directions were easy to understand. It didn't take long to assemble and seems like a very sturdy bed. Very happy with my purchase.
Considering buying a second for my other child!
Can be assembled by one person (female) and using a power screw driver. Quality is very nice and the bed looks exactly like advertised!
DISCLAIMER - I've only had the product for one night. I'll update if opinion changes.
Ordered the full bed with twin trundle to transition grandson from toddler bed and I love it. Despite two issues with assembly instructions (explained below), it was incredibly easy to put together. I'm a woman in my 50s and did it by myself with the supplied hex wrenches and a power screwdriver.
Bed and trundle were boxed and shipped separately (trundle arrive a day before bed), and there were no scratches, cracks, breaks or any other type of damage. I like that the heads of the bolts in the sides of the headboard and footboard are painted white so they don't show as much. It's an attractive piece of furniture, and the white is a true, pure white.
TRUNDLE ASSEMBLY - this couldn't have been technically easier. Four frame sections, wheels and slats. However, there is an error in the instructions. They specifically state that both end slats must be flush with the end of the frame and THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE if you want to attach those two boards to the frame. Placing them flush means the wood screw used to hold them in place doesn't go into the frame, but instead enters a gap along the railing - so it holds on to nothing.
I assumed I'd done something wrong because they went out of their way to print an image showing the right/wrong way to place these two boards, but it wasn't me. My initial thought was to contact the manufacturer, but I only had the trundle (no the bed), and those instructions gave no contact information, nor could I find anything on the website.
After LOTS of head-scratching, re-reading instructions, a few curse words and scrolling through reviews, I finally found another purchaser that mentioned the exact same thing. She said she contacted the manufacturer and was told that the instructions were wrong, would be corrected, and that it would not compromise the safety of the bed if you moved the slats inward some so that they could be attached. My resolution was to start with attaching the middle slat (unlike instructed), then pulling each subsequent board taught and work my way out to the ends. This ensured the slack was only in the two outer boards.
This issue added an extra 45 minutes to my labor because I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong, but the assembly was still easy for one person.
BED ASSEMBLY - again, super easy, just with a lot more parts. There was an error here too, but I didn't spend as much time on it. The two brackets attached to the mattress frame that "hook" into the headboard and footboard can't be positioned the same as the image in the instructions show. Regardless, as long as the hooks are facing down, it should be good, and this is what I went with. I assembled the bed in about an hour.
I haven't purchased a mattress for the trundle yet, so I can't speak as to the size needed. I like that it can be put on the left or right side of bed, and even on a mid-height carpet it rolls easily.
I've seen a lot of comments about the sturdiness of these beds. My grandson is young, so there won't be a lot of weight put on it, but if it doesn't hold up for whatever reason, I'll come back and update review.
Overall, super please with the product and would recommend. Just be forewarned about the assembly instructions to save yourself some time!
It came with a broken slat and dented metal rods
It was hard to assemble but it’s a overall good bed
Perfect looking bed. The color is a great deep navy with matching hardware. Assembly was good. Instructions not super clear on a couple steps so we had to go back and redo. Bed is sturdy.
Trundle is on 4 wheels. Pulls out easily and fits nicely back under bed. You can put trundle on either side of the bed.

Misunderstanding due to advertisement (full/full is actually full/twin) but Sam from Bed Smart contacted us and sent additional slats and wheels to make it work for us! The grandchildren love it!!
