I can't believe I spent weeks looking at down comforters - trying to make a decision. The reviews on Amazon are so bi-polar - some people telling you the comforter changed your life and others telling you it is horrible. That made it hard for me to make a decision. I went ahead with this one because it seemed like it had fewer fake reviews. This is a real review - no discounts or conflict of interest - and I highly recommend the Snowman white goose down comforter.
I am writing this review to tell you that this is a great comforter - so don't hesitate to purchase it. The comforter is 90% goose down. I do not notice any feathers poking anywhere. No down or other materials have come out since I purchased it four nights ago. It is lightweight but keeps you warm. It has not been that cold here - getting down to 65 degrees at night. The baffle boxes seem well constructed. The comforter has loops on both ends that are great for securing the duvet cover.
Luxurious, FLUFFY, soft, beautiful. This feels like a $500 comforter. A friend of mine recently purchased a down comforter from Macys for hundreds and she was really mad when she saw how much more amazing this one was for the price!!! Its very warm and very heavy. It is generously filled with the down and distributed evenly. Its high quality. It does make a crinkle-y noise, but I love that personally. When I removed it from the packaging it looked a bit flat, but from the other reviews I read and based on the description thats normal. I gave it a good fluff for a few minutes and It just puffed up like a marshmallow. If youre in the market for a comforter I highly recommend this, I’ve never written a review before but I just had to!!!!! SLEEPING IN A CLOUD!!!!
I bought and returned two down comforters before finding this one. It is PERFECT!!! It even has the little corner tabs so you can secure it inside your duvet.
What I wanted:
*light but warm
*soft shell
*oversized
*SUPER FLUFFY (I really can't overemphasize this ;)
What I didn't want:
*crunchy feathers (OMG!)
*flat/bald patches or uneven distribution of feathers
*heavy and hot
Both of the comforters I returned were stiff and LOUD and felt like someone put one of those lead dental x-ray mats over me. I felt like I was suffocating. This comforter is EXACTLY what I was looking for!!! You know when you go to a really nice hotel and the bed looks and feels like a million fluffy bucks? THIS IS HOW THEY DO THAT. I am so happy I want to cry.
I was a little hesitant about buying this type of item online but figured I could always return it if it wasn't up to par. It arrived perfectly packaged in a zippered carry case and seemed a bit on the flat side at first, but I shook it for a good 15 minutes and stuffed it in my linen duvet and it is the most perfect cloud EVER! This down comforter is EVERYTHING, and has transformed my sleeps into a luxury, light, fluffy dream. It does get a little hot but that just means it's the real deal. Only downfall was that I thought it came with a free pillow like the picture showed in the ad, but it didn't.
Overall I am in love with this product and would not hesitate to buy again!
Three nights now my wife and I have fallen fast asleep, the comforter envelopes you in fluffy clouds of warmth. Not sweaty hot. I’m a bad sleeper, who slept great last night.
No plastic smell, the comforter came in a canvas tote, very clever. The quality and comfort are there. For the money the best purchase we made in years. Last night I dropped the thermostat 5 more degrees and couldn’t have been warmer in bed, but the best part. Not over bearingly hot.
We are delighted
Okay, first of all to address the people who say that this sounds like a tarp... There is a definite sound when it moves around but I have never experienced a down comforter that doesn't. I think it's part of the charm. I've been using down comforters since I was a kid (common in Europe, dad is from Germany) and this one compares to what he preferred to use. It was hard to make a decision of which one to buy on Amazon because there are so many with varying prices. I unfortunately do not have the means to buy one for $400-$500, but I also didn't want something cheap and crappy. You get what you pay for, and with that being said, this comforter is a very good value for what you are getting. I believe that I will get many years out of this. I did not notice any feathers poking through, and I am happy with the weight/warmth. I keep my bedroom very cold with AC in the summer and no heat in the winter (Pacific Northwest). This kept me very comfortable in my chilly AC'd room. I am confident that it will be fine for winter too. Oh, and I really REALLY like the loops. Am I the only one who has never seen that on a comforter? I am so excited to not have this thing shift inside of the duvet cover. Sounds silly, but that annoys the heck out of me!
Once again furthermore this is a complete rip off as you can see this does not look anything like the picture that they posted just look at the stitching completely and totally disappointed in the false advertising that was presented in the picture when I ordered this product
I have been searching for a comforter like this! This is so puffy like a cloud(Give a few shakes and 24 hours to fluff up) and is he best to snuggle into. I cannot believe I finally found a puffy comforter (keep in mind all comforters need a good shake to fluff it up after use). I put it inside my duvet cover and it's the perfect fit, plus the edges have material to tie my duvet to so it won't shift. If you're a hot body, you will sweat with this one in the summer nights.
Pics: I placed my hand next to it so you can see how much fluff is there and to get an idea of how much overhang is there for a KING!
Very happy with the duvet. Highly recommend getting the California King for your King bed as it hangs over the sides better for nighttime comfort. It had extra fabric hooks for attaching to duvet cover, so you could add extra ties inside the cover if you wish (in addition to the four corners). Quality is excellent.
It's a lot warmer than I expected, so won't be able to use in the summer but it will be great in winter.
At first I was quite pleased upon opening this duvet. It wasn't anywhere near as puffy as in the photos provided by the ad, but it was lightweight and appeared to be of decent enough quality. Unfortunately upon further inspection I realised that not everything is as it may seem. It turns out the ad is quite misleading, as the ad states that the duvet cover is 100% Egyptian cotton. I was thinking to myself that the duvet did feel a bit scratcher and "artificial" than I was used to, and sure enough as you can see by the photo of the tag I provided, the duvet cover is in fact 40% polyester. I'm not sure if my math is off, but if something is 40% polyester, I'm unsure how it can also be 100% cotton
