Doesn't do decimal points in grams which is what I needed. My fault, misunderstood what I read. 3 stars because it didn't come with the battery that was supposed to be included.
Update: This scale is garbage for measuring anything small. I was adding weight in increments of half grams without the numbers on the scale budging at all. I got up to 18g and it still read 0 and the only way I knew it was 18g is because when I took it off it read -18g. Weight must be added at more than 2g at once to register any kind of change. This scale is a complete waste of money for me.
My original review is below but I’ve learned how to really get the most out of my scale so I just shared a video as well.
Original Review:
My package arrived today and it seems to be very good quality scale that was ready to use, instinctively, right out of the box. They have easy instructions online for the little details though, easy peasy.
I’ve got to say, I’m very impressed with this company. Check out the picture I posted, reading the details if you can. Talk about giving back and minimizing waste! They’re also having a cool contest using the little temporary tattoos opposite the scale in the same photo which their site has info on as well.
I think I may have gotten a lot more than just a scale in the box, which sounds so hokie, I know. But when I finish this review I’m going back to their site to see what else they’ve got going on.
The battery lasts MAYBE a few days of light use before dying. It's terrible. It's also not like this is a AA or AAA battery that most of us have lying around the house. I would have to order batteries weekly if I were to continue using it. I threw away the packaging or else I would have returned it.
I wish I read the reviews more closely.
Do yourself a favor and choose another scale. This one is useless with how quickly the battery dies.
The scale is cheap in every sense of the word. When weighing in grams, the scale is wildly inaccurate.
This scale seemed really nice out of the box, and the packaging and aesthetic are very pleasant. I didn't use it very long, though, as the scale was prone to jittery numbers when I was trying to zero/tare or change units. Buttons don't "press" like I'm used to (my old scale was 2kg max and $5 from a second hand store, and it worked like a dream). Applying any amount of pressure to push the buttons triggers the scale to add weight, but tapping isn't enough to get a function to change. Weights seemed mostly accurate, at least. I returned it because I wasn't happy with the lack of "oomph" required to push buttons, and watching the numbers constantly jumble around concerns me. Looks nice, but work on the parts not being so finicky.
I purchased the Greater Goods kitchen scale as my wife and I recently began living a healthier and cleaner lifestyle. I’ll say, for anyone looking at improving their life healthy eating is the first step, and to do so you NEED a good food scale.
After reviewing dozens of scales I purchased this one as the company seems to have a great product, which looks good, at a great price, and they’re a responsible company. I have a very modern kitchen and do not like clutter. This scale looks great whether I keep it on the counter or in a drawer. It’s sleek and slim, and multiple different measurements, and is very easy to use. I typically use the oz. or gram setting the most. For those that haven’t used a food scale before...it’s EASY! For example, if I’m making chicken tacos, I’ll first put the plate and two tortillas on the scale. Then I’ll zero it out. Then when I add my chicken I’ll know exactly how much I’m having without dirtying multiple bowls/plates. Then I zero it out again, and start adding cheese, zero it out again and add additional toppings. It’s easy to use and helps in calorie counting. Especially if you enter your food intake into an app (I use MyFitnessPal), it is amazing!
The first one I purchased stopped working shortly after receiving (kept showing no low battery and turning off, even after buying new batteries), but they company promptly shipped another. I rated a 4/5 for this reason, but will increase to 5/5 if this one holds up. It’s a good chance it was a one-off defect.
Thank you for reading and rating my review! Cheers to you and your new healthy lifestyle! :)
