I bought this as I was painting some wicker chairs and my garage doors. I had never used a paint gun before. This thing is an amazing value! Took a few minutes playing around with it and reading the directions. But really easy to get the hang of it. Started with the chairs and it is a MUST if you are painting wicker - so much easier to get into all the spaces. Moving onto the garage doors - also a great time saver - looks really professional when it was done and likely saved me hours of work. The instructions include directions to thin out the paint and they seem very accurate - little trial and error to get the mix right - but once I got it there were no clogs and the paint came out very consistently. Clean up was really easy as well. Now I just need to find some more stuff to paint!
I purchased this to paint my front door after I had attempted to paint it with a brush and foam roller, but wasn't happy with the way the finish turned out. I lightly sanded the hand painted paint and then sprayed.
HO-LY cow did it look great!!
It was easy to use and clean and the low price was the cherry on top. I will say it pays to thoroughly tape and cover as there will be overspray. The taping off part is time consuming, but the spraying goes fast and you can do multiple coats with shorter dry times compared to using a brush and/or roller.
Read the directions... they are simple to follow and contain great tips.
I'm not sure I would recommend leaving paint in the paint well for an extended period even though it comes with a lid to close/seal it up. Paint on the inner well walls can dry, end up in the paint, and then clog the sprayer. I would put unused paint back in it's original container and then filter the paint when adding it to the paint well the next time you spray.
This worked so well I ended up painting my garage door and now have a list of other painting jobs I plan to tackle.
This is an economical and user friendly painting tool that I would highly recommend.
As suggested by other users, take the time to thoughtfully read and follow the instructions, practice on some cardboard to get the hang of things, and the go at it!
I'm very impressed with the build quality of the unit and spray nozzles. The sprayer comes with everything you need to get quality/professional results. Set up and clean up is super easy.
I've only tackled one project to date and couldn't be happier with the outcome. Purchased 4 bare wood, put-2gether-yoself, Adirondack chairs for our pool deck. Put down a canvas drop cloth out in the yard away from everything, two parallel 2X4's to elevate the chair pieces, spaced out the chair pieces across the 2X4's, and then went at it... first with two coats of primer/sealer, then two coats of paint. The sprayer is awesome! The thought of doing this with a brush & roller makes me cringe.
Considering the results obtained and the time saved, IMHO this sprayer is definitely worth every penny!! Highly recommended if you're into DIY projects.
My fault for not doing my homework. I wanted an airless handheld sprayer. This one is electric and makes its own air but is not a paint pump like what I had in mind. That said, I decided to keep this one because I don't paint that much and I have it and the true airless sprayers are much more expensive. It works well enough and not too difficult to clean. It comes with different nozzles as shown and some other accessories that aren't bad. The instructions could certainly stand an additional level of translation but are usable for the most part. There is one accessory the instructions didn't help with at all and while I know what it is for I have yet to figure out how to use. Not really a problem because it is for cleaning and is apparently unnecessary though it might make it easier.
I bought this to paint my kitchen cabinet doors and drawer fronts. It's very easy to assemble, adjustments for getting the right spray are simple to do, and it's very easy to clean. It comes with a nice assortment of tips and other accessories. I used it with Stix primer (unthinned) and Benjamin Moore Advance cabinet paint (thinned by 10%) and achieved professional looking results. This paint sprayer was worth every penny and will be used again when it's time to restain the deck. The only negative I can come up with is that it is somewhat loud so I wasn't able to listen to my podcasts while working with it. Even so, it's one of my best purchases.
This is the first time that I have experienced using a sprayer. It was a great asset to accomplishing painting the fence in the backyard, quickly and rather seamlessly. I did have trouble trying to control the flow. I really had to practice, I admit I have not mastered it yet. There was running of the paint at times. For the first time, I applaud my effort.
The sprayer is a value for he money. I would purchase again. On one occasion during the paint job the sprayer stopped working. Not sure if it was a cord that came unplugged or the device had to cool down. This will not be my last paint job. Maybe I can move on inside and try it.
I snagged this on discount; out the door, it was like $45ish dollars.
I just primed my entire house with it (about five gallons of primer)
Doing it without this would have been way, way harder, and for $45? Complete no brainer. After extended use the unit does need a clean (tends to get gunked up over the day, particularly if it's hot) and it's not exactly high volume (I'm sure a different sprayer would be better). But... $45? I'm just gonna buy a second one for the actual painting.
