I was expecting a full sized, normal, wood and cardboard (usually) boxspring to be delivered!! This thing was just cool!! It showed up in a super compact box and I thought "Holy crap! Im gonna have to assemble each wooden slat and somehow staple gun the fabric to the frame!"....Then I opened it up! It was metal and was folded up all origami like. I unfolded, snapped a bit here, snapped a bit there, and VOILA! a boxspring shape! Then I just slid on the giant pillowcase like boxspring cover, and that was it! I was done! Took me under 10 minutes!! I wanted to buy another one just so I could show my husband my amazing origami boxspring skills! Annnnnd the price was comparable to a normal one at the store, but I didn't have to have my husbands truck, and wrangle a big ass boxspring around in the heat!!! Score for me!
So first, this is a quality product, very sturdy and excellent packing job. The instructions are very very easy to follow, no tools required, it basically snaps together, it is all metal, no wood slats which is good. My only draw back was this, I needed to use a rubber hammer to get the first end on, not sure why it was fighting me to get it in. The second thing is this, once you have it together, and turn it over to zipper on the bottom, some of the slats fell out, I had to un zipper and put them back in, so be careful how you turn it over when complete. I would think it would have been better if these slat pieces "snapped" in better. Other wise, it's a great and very sturdy frame, very in expensive and only took 20 minutes to assemble. Oh when you put the cover on as the last step, you "really" have to pull it tight to get it over the corners, It appears like it won't fit but it does, don't worry.
I've had this for a month, and it has already developed the loudest squeaking I've ever heard in a bed. With the slightest movement, the whole house will awaken due to the sound this thing makes. I basically have to hold my breath if I want it quiet. Amazon wants me to pack it up to send it back, but it's a huge hassle due to its size and shape. Save yourself the trouble and restless sleep and buy a different brand.
Inexpensive, sturdy, well-built and easy to put together...What more could you want?
Hesitated about putting it together, but when I open the box I was pleasantly surprised. Pieces drop in place, And four thumb screws for the whole thing together. It took about five minutes, although we struggled a little to get the very nice cover on it. A hint, make sure you completely unzipped it and put the top on and then the bottom.
Great product. Our old wood box spring creaked and groaned every time anyone moved on the mattress. And tightening the bolts on the box spring did very little to cut down the annoying noise. This box spring, which is made of metal, has so far been completely silent. Also, it is super easy to put the box spring together - without tools. Only challenge, as other reviewers have noted, is that getting the box spring cover on can be a challenge. I enlisted one of my kids to help with the whole process and would definitely recommend that two people out this together.
This is a nice box spring. It was very easy to put together in only about 15 minutes or so. My only complaint is the cover. It took me about twenty addition minutes to fight with getting the cover on. I had to pull at it in so many directions to get it to fit. Also, the zipper was very difficult to pull around the corners. I thought it was going to rip. Eventually I pulled the zipper around the corners, but it was not easy.
I think it’s great. It was really easy to assemble. After reading other reviews about putting the cover on, I can understand why people said it seemed difficult. I went into the assembly knowing that, so I just fiddled with the corners a bit and it went right on. I’d say total assembly took me about 15 minutes.
We were transitioning my son from his crib to his big-kid bed, but there wasn't enough clearance to get the side-guards in without raising up the mattress a few inches. This did the job perfectly.
The box was long and heavy, but once I got it open I was met with a bunch of metal parts and a small bag of tools. The frame was easy enough to assemble, with labels on some pieces saying which side was UP, which was helpful...but one of them was installed upside-down. It was easy enough to deduce, looking at the graphics in the directions and the piece, and applying some basic logic to it, that the label was applied wrong, but even despite this it was pretty easy to figure out.
I assembled it in our bedroom (where there was room) and slid it down the hall, across the carpet, with ease. I probably wouldn't drag this across anything but a carpet floor -- it's heavy, and could probably scratch/scuff a wood or laminate floor -- without using some cardboard or felt to remove the friction. But positioning it in the bed frame wasn't too difficult. It's heavy and awkward to grab due to its assembled size...but it's very structurally sound as I was placing it.
9" Came a day early! :) Very suprised with the box, it didnt look like much when it arrived but was exactly what i expected. Took us 20 minutes to put it together, didnt really need the instructions much. Your bed is lower to the floor which is what i prefer, i cant fit a queen boxspring up my stairs and this worked perfectly to meet my needs. It doesnt make noise during "adult activity" its very sturdy. I love it! Its about the same height from the floor as a normal boxspring.
I got this box spring because it was a better deal here then other places I looked at. I purchased the double box spring. It was easy to assemble and the instructions were straightforward, as a young women building by herself. It took me less than an hour to build. A lot of people suggest that putting the cover on is hard to do once the fully built, but it wasn’t too bed. It felt like putting on a bedsheet and you have the last corner. It is very sturdy and high. It’s about 9 inches, which is the standards height. I would recommend that people try it out.
When it's finally set up it's actually a good replacement for a box spring. It took some persuasion to fit everything together, it's a tight fit, but it's sturdy because of this. If you have a rubber mallet you're already one step ahead of where I was.
The middle supports are all about a half inch shorter than they should be, because they fit just so on the edge of the brackets on either end. They fit in tightly though so I don't expect they'll move and fall. The edges were the most difficult part to assemble. I had to bend some of the pieces straight again in order to get the brackets aligned, but it was easy enough to do if one corner was already put together.
The cover was the easiest part to put on, just put the top on first and zip the bottom to it. All in all I think it's a quality option. It was just hell to put together. Also, one of the four fasteners sits in at an angle, but it feels tight.
Update:
After some use it has developed a slight squeak when you get off it, then again I weigh 180lbs at 6ft so it is a bit small for me anyways. I ordered the full size and I have to lay diagonally to stretch out without my feet touching the edge.
Amazing and coolest box spring! It was SO easy to assemble and the instructions were spot on. Other reviewers here said the cover was hard to zip - but I didn’t think so. The trick is don’t lay the mattress down and don’t fully unzip the cover to put it on - I had my husband hold the mattress upright while I unzipped the cover halfway, slid it on and zipped it back up. Pretty easy in my opinion!
One of the best amazon products I’ve bought. Impressed to the level that I’m actually writing a review for it lol
All I wanted were some slats for underneath my bed. IKEA style. Simple, inexpensive, easy to use, which doesn't lift my mattress unnecessarily high. Amazon decided that this ridiculously large, ridiculously thick behemoth would be a much better choice. No wooden slats for them.
Oh, and good luck getting it under your mattress if it's already set up, especially in a smaller space.
I'm also worried that those thin, rock hard metal pieces are at some point going to be felt through the mattress.
Very sorry I bought it. Should've waited until IKEA could deliver, because this thing must've been designed by idiots. Unfortunately, I'm stuck with it now, as it sits on my balcony, waiting for someone to help me get it under my mattress because my mattress warranty will be voided without 'slats'.
Yes, it was easy to assemble, but it's still rubbish.
