I've seen a few negative reviews of this bed frame, and can't figure out why. It is heavy grade steel and very well engineered. The directions for assembly are idiot proof. I didn't really need to even look at the directions, but did so anyway. Everything fit together well. It was one of the easiest setups that I've ever done. It is mentioned in the directions that you have to match up the numbers for everything to fit together. Duh, no confusion there. The slats do seem a bit flimsy, but are more than adequate for support. Some more expensive bed frames that I have seen used a little heavier wood, but there were far fewer slats. This has enough slats that a Sumo wrestler couldn't make a mattress sag!I noted that some people said that there wasn't a support post for the middle bar. It doesn't show up on the pictures, but it definitely has a support post in the middle of it. This bed frame is built to last. Also, there is no noise associated with it. I weigh two hundred pounds and am a restless sleeper. I assure you that I didn't wake up my wife during the night. I need firm support due to a bad back, and this frame gives it. I am thrilled with the purchase. I replaced a wooden platform that I built out of wood. Tucking in the sheets was a pain , so I opted for this metal frame. It makes everything easier. I highly recommend this frame. Really sturdy, easy to put together, and perfect for a DIY take on a much more expensive bed frame. (I added pine boards around the bottom of mine). After a week of use with no issues I can 100% recommend it. Very happy. This is how everyone should buy a bed. This frame is incredibly sturdy and doesn't budge or squeak.I wish I'd have saved the thousands I spent on my bedroom set and bought this.We purchased this for our son's room. It's a king and the best deal ever. We have a Lull King Mattress on it.It was SUPER easy to assemble. Every single part is numbered and all you do is match the numbers. It came with all the tools needed, including a small ratchet. I was so impressed with this I even took pictures to show how very simple it was to put together. You could literally do it with one person.Along with being the easiest piece of furniture I've ever assembled, it is really nice, modern and stylish.The wooden slats are all attached to each other AND even have velcro they stick to along the rail so they don't move or wiggle at all. You don't even have to stick the velcro on yourself, it's already done for you.The instructions were very simple and so easy to follow.Seriously one of the BEST made items I have ever purchased. I highly recommend this frame. I’m pretty disappointed in both Amazon and Zinus by this purchase. The box came to me with a taped up hole at the top of the box and a head piece missing. The product support page says to contact Zinus to replace missing parts. I contact Zinus and they say to contact Amazon since I bought it from them. So I do and Amazon doesn’t deal in “missing parts” and wants me to buy it again, then ship back the one with the missing piece for a refund. Because this is probably how I got mine in the first place that isn’t a solution it’s just transferring my problem to someone else! Also the King size is out of stock so I’d have to either buy a lesser product or the more expensive one with the (unwanted) headboard. So I contact Zinus again to see if I can just buy the missing part because I want to keep the thing and am told no, they don’t have replacement parts, the product is out of stock, and I have to return it to Amazon and buy something else.I can kind of see Amazons limitation here, but when you buy something from a manufacturer you expect them to be able to send a replacement part if needed! I love their mattress, and I can’t recommend it enough, but I absolutely cannot recommend buying a bed frame from them. So barring all of the horrible shipping traumas from previous reviews, my bed frame arrived 4 days after my order was placed. It’s cumbersome for a queen frame, but wasn’t horrible to manage— yes, I’m a 5’2” female who goes to the gym. I managed to put the entire thing together. No, I wasn’t going for speed. I was more concerned with NOT cross threading the bolts. The kit comes with a mini ratchet now, and even states on the packaging to keep for the future and to make life easier. Yes, it still has the hex wrench as part of the original hardware packet.If you can paint by numbers then you can put the bed frame together. All of my parts were undamaged, not bent, fit well, weren’t drilled weird. So maybe I really lucked out, and maybe the company listened to all of the gripes. No, I’m not paid by Zinus to type this up.I wasn’t into the low bed— it was meant as a replacement for my box spring, but I’m not used to sitting on the floor to sleep. So that box spring went back on. No squeaks. Solid bed. I’ll update if anything changes. There ya go for a more up to date product review. I bought this for our Casper king mattress. The assembly only took about one hour (which has to be a new record for out of the box furniture). My box included all the necessary hardware. The frame is very solid and wobble free. The slats are actually more like 3.25 inches apart and quite flimsy. I didn't trust them to keep my mattress from sagging and decided to take a trip to the hardware store for reinforcements. Four cinderblocks with end caps on them were the perfect height to place under the wood slats. I had two pieces of particle board cut 36 3/8 x 76 3/4 and put them on top of the slats. This cost me an extra $40 but was well worth it. I wouldn't trust this frame without the extra support, but after these small modifications I love it. It's very minimal and sturdy.
