The texture was like sitting on straw. The "arm rests" VELCRO onto the couch and offer no support, as they are flattened, thin pillows. The directions claimed that the pillows and cushions would expand, but that never happened. It felt like sitting on plywood. The back (probably also boards of plywood) offered no support--the fabric that went over the back had to be ZIPPERED on. Lastly, the cushions didn't align with the base of the couch, so everything looked off center. I am currently in this process of returning this, and it has also been a nightmare.
