Best last minute decision I made. For the price the quality is excellent and took about an hour to put together . Only suggestion is that there should be a couple extra screws and small parts (maybe 2 or 3 of each) just in case! Put it together with my 12 year old just to have an extra set of hands to hold sturdy while I tighten screws. Love how the bottom bunk has enough room for an adult to sit straight up and I have high ceilings so my 12 year old can as well sit straight up!! Didnt expect it to be so sturdy, but it really is. I've had metal bunks before and they usually swing back and forth and squeak, but as of yet no issues there. I could have put it together myself as not complicated at all and instructions were great!! Every bar and box was labeled for easy instruction assembly. I have a 12 inch mattress on the bottom and 6 inch memory foam mattress on top (which was also purchased on Amazon) and will say that I am very pleased with my decision!! Great item for the price.. and definitely kids love it!! So when kids are happy, momma is happy!!
Now, I gotta say to everyone who purchase this bunk bed, to lower your expectations. Just look at the price, and do not expect anything high end. Does it do the job? Yes. The truth is, when someone is on the top bed, it wabbles a lot. I weight 276 pounds and I got myself up there and it wabbled a lot! Maybe for someone who weights less could do a lot better with the wabbling, but at least you know it supports that much weight. The bottom bed its perfectly fine, no issues at all. The stairs to climb up are very uncomfortable and they will hurt your feet for sure.
I have a suggestion for the builders of this bed. If you bring down the top base lower at least 3 inches, it would be able to be more supportive and less Wabbly. Also, the main 4 bars they could use a bit more thickness Just for more support.
Overall I give it 4 stars because it is an OK price and it does the job.
A must have! I share a room with my daughter unfortunately, and this is a great space solver! We've had it for about two months now, and no complaints! Quick note: after using it for a while, it's a good idea to go back over all your bolts/screws and give a tightening if needed. Things will initially move and loosen just a tad as you break it in.
You will need someone to help you assemble, but I'm sure the truly determined can manage alone. Had to struggle a little to get the ladder lined up on one side as it seemed the piece was crooked. A GOOD TIP: DO NOT TIGHTEN AS SOON AS YOU ATTACH. LEAVE A LITTLE WIGGLE ROOM AS YOU LINE THINGS UP, THEN GO BACK AND TIGHTEN. Best to start laying the slats on top from one side to another first, then doing the bottom in the same fashion.
Great bed. I was looking for a good size bunk for my 2nd guestroom. This fits the bill. The bed was easy to assemble and all pieces were present.
I dropped one star only because the bed does feel a bit rickety when climbing in the top bunk ( it sways). However, we fashioned a couple of braces against the walls and it works great for all of my nieces when they visit!
After 2 months living with this bed, we can't take it anymore and buying a new one for our kids. You get what you pay for and it definitely was not worth saving some money. The bed squeaks incessantly even after tightening all the parts multiple times. It's impossible to sleep well as with every move it squeaks loudly. The ladder is also rather treaturous and makes me very nervous having kids climb down in the dark. The rungs are not even, it's straight up and down so you can't see where you're placing your feet and hurts your feet when barefoot. Overall terrible product.
Bought this bed 18 months ago and have been sleeping on the lower bunk every night since. I’m 6’4” and 350#. Hauled the box upstairs and assembled bed, alone, in a short afternoon. Braced the bed lengthwise against a wall stud with a sturdy expandable shower rod (with spacers on opposite end of bed to be even with floor molding) to prevent wobbling and squeaking. 18 months later, no wobbles, no squeaks, no problems, no complaints! Space saving and no frills design were EXACTLY what I wanted. I use the upper bunk for storage in my tiny apartment. Am about to buy the twin version of this great bed for spare room.
Fairly easy to assemble but can be tedious at times with all the small parts for the mattress support. The bed is firmly put together but is does move when climbing to the top bunk. It also squeaks like crazy! Very annoying. Consider mounting to the wall with brackets to eliminate movement and squeaks. I would probably not buy again due to the squeaking.
This is a great bunk for my 7 year old. It also leaves us with the capability of having adult guests sleep over on the bottom bunk ( we kept her queen size mattress on it) as her room usually turns into the guest room. The top is sturdy enough for kids to sleep on. When I’m on the top (110 lbs) moving around to make the bed it’s a bit wobbly. More so than my sons wooden loft ( which can also be a bit wobbly). I got the silver one which is in fact gray:). Looks great and suits our needs perfect. Arrived in a timely manner. Had no issues with hardware. I’m 5’2 /110lbs and put it together all by myself. I found the instructions quite easy to follow. I love that there is room for storage underneath as well! Overall I find it a great full over full bunk for the price!
Im totally impressed. I put it up myself it took me about 2 hrs I followed direction and it was super easy. I love the amount of head room on bottom bunk ( see pic). I dont find it wobbles at all. Tip I did add a strip of fleece between rods and middle frame supports to prevent clacking. Arrived faster than predicted. For the price I paid for this full over full bunk bed Im impressed.
The colour is grey as someone else commented, not silver. Otherwise, it's a great bunk bed. It's sturdy and easy to assemble. My mattresses fit really well. Mind that we have pillowtop thick mattresses; surprisingly, the fit. This is our guest room. My only suggestion is to add the steps to the side; these steps are hard and small for chubby people. Also, the steps location limit the options to position the bed. I wish I didn't have to cover the light coming from my window. It's the only negative opinion I have.
After installation of the product, we realized the upper bunk is not sturdy. It shakes significantly from side to side while climbing the ladder and/or on the bed. We eventually crewed the bed into the wall to stop it from moving. Ladder is not easy to go up/down either. Would not recommend this product.
Bed was pretty easy to build, came with all the pieces and even some extras. Over all the bed is ok, the ladder squeaks some and the bed is wobbly. I was scared to sleep on the top bunk at first with how wobbly it is, but once I got up there I was fine. The weight capacity for the bed does live up, I'm 215 and the top bunk holds 300. The ladder could be a bit wider though, for those who are on the bigger side. I decided to cut up a pool noodle and put it on each rung of the ladder, it does kind of hurt the feat to climb up without shoes on. I'm not sure if I'd say its "small spaces approved", but I was able to make it work with the size of my room. It did take a heck of a hassle to get here, but I blame that on the current world event. I honestly don't think I'll buy again because of trouble I had to go through to get it, but I'm happy with the overall results.
I’m returning this bed because it is so wobbly and is not sturdy at all. Total disappointment and it doesn’t meet the product description neither the expected safety measure being for kids. We tested it with My 7 years old child alone on both levels and once she moves in bed or turns we hear the bed squeaking loud. I’m getting a wooden one instead from a different brand and make
