I was really looking forward to and excited about this particular crate and company. I was intrigued by pleasant reviews. I received mine in good time, and it was noticeably 'unfinished'. The packaging was well done and intact. What I mean by unfinished is that the crate itself was rough, unsanded, and my specific crate, appeared as if it was put together hastily. (uneven slats and spacing) The two record decals were not clean and polished like the picture shows. I felt a noticeable sawdust. The handles were nice, the overall structural integrity was fine enough.

It would do the job of holding records just fine, it is quite large and accommodating. No problem there, it's mostly my personal preference.

Of course, there is the option of sanding it down, painting, and polishing it yourself, but I thought that this product should have been okay standalone without alterations or polishing needed. Nothing is perfect though. This product would be and is a great beginning piece to customize and alter to your liking and I think that's a great thing.

This is a well-made, reasonably sturdy, and good-looking record crate, and comes fully assembled. The competing Crosley crate (which requires assembly) is apparently crap made from balsa wood. This one is made of actual pine slats of a decent thickness. The "record" shape carved in the front panel is a nice detail. Is it a work of art? Of course not. Does it get the job done? Yes, and then some. Recommend.
I was looking for well-built crates that would allow me to easily flip through albums. Size-wise, these are the best I found. I ended up staining them and adding wheels that could support 40 pounds, about the weight the crate holds when there are around 35 albums inside.
the best one you will find online! yes it actually holds records, it is wide enough. i did have to do some sanding in order to paint it, but good luck ever finding one you dont have to sand. this seems to be built solid. and customer service is very responsive, friendly, and helpful. i had an issue where one of the record logos on the side wasnt cut out completely, and they replaced it promptly. look no further, this is the record storage crate youve been searching for! i will change this to 5 stars when we have had it for several months and know that it holds up for a long time
Vinyl is in so I resurrected my vintage collection... but where to store it so I can easily access the LPs? Old dusty milk crates just weren’t cutting it. This Pine Storage Crate was the answer. It is well built, very sturdy, not like some of the cheap junk I’ve seen. The natural wood looks great in my media room. I looked at a lot of crates and storage possibilities, but this was exactly what I needed at an amazing price. If a well made wood crate is what you are looking for, look no further. This is what you want!
I did a ton of searching through Amazon for just the right crates for our albums. It's surprising how hard it is to find something the right quality, the right size, the right price. These are simple; just what I was looking for and the quality and finishing is fantastic. Everyone who has seen them has commented on how nice the engraved (is it called engraving?) disc is on the side. I will not be staining these. They are perfect as is.
Very well built crate. Better quality than others I've purchased for more money. I will be buying more of these. I won't finish them as I'm fine with the natural wood look and smell. Highly recommend. One thing to note is that the crate height is lower than the 12" record height so you won't be able to stack them without sitting the top one directly on your records in the lower crate, but this was not an issue for me since I don't plan to stack them.
We needed something to store our more favorite records that would be easy to access and look decent in our house. While shopping for crates, I found another brand but they shipped it in pieces and you had to put it together. That sounded like a hassle. I came across this crate and I couldn't be happier. It comes fully assembled. All you have to do is remove it from the box it was shipped in and you're ready to go. It's made out of good quality wood and looked exactly like the picture. It's a very light colored wood, so you could stain it any shade if you had the desire. I'll more than likely end up buying another one of these crates and highly recommend it. Shipping came fast. Roughly 3 days from the time I ordered it. I always get nervous ordering something that isn't shipped prime, but this company shipped fast!

Not a knock on the crate, because it comes with the territory with this style. Something to be aware of if you're highly particular about your records. Open sided crates like these have the potential to ding the corners of your records when you're moving them in and out of the crate. So you need to exercise a little bit of care. The records can hit the gaps in the slabs on the side. Just something to be award of putting your records away after a listen.
