I use this primarily with a small Traeger smoker and have cooked turkey, tri-tip, brisket, pulled pork, and ribs using this device. Each time the device was accurate and produced delicious results. My only complaint about this product is the multiple notifications to my phone and via the speaker on the case about it losing connection. The smoker is about 5 feet beyond my glass doors to the back yard, the speaker case is sitting on a table a few inches from those glass doors, the ISP gateway is 3 feet from that, and my phone is on a counter in the kitchen within a few feet of that. Every time I use the device I receive roughly 2-6 notifications about disconnections and then within a few seconds to a minute it is reconnected again, so distance as interference shouldn\'t be a factor. I did notice that if the probe is wrapped in foil with the meat then I lose connection all together, so I have to tear a small hole in the foil so the probe sticks out. It would be nice if the app had an option to increase the time-out threshold from the probe (to say 1 minute), so that the frequent disconnect messages would stop since they generally resolve themselves in a few seconds. Other than that, the phone app is easy to use based on if you\'re making a recipe or going by the cut of the meat, and also accounts for meat resting time during the cooking process. The estimates of time left can vary in accuracy when I use it on the smoker, but the temperatures appear to be spot on and alerts appropriately when the required temperature is reached.

you. Pick a protein, and go from there. Have used on the grill and the air fryer with excellent results.

Cons: It\'s yet another time that needs to be kept charged.

I have used this thermometer several times since purchasing...both on a gas grill and over charcoal. It is accurate and easy to set up and monitor. I have found the audio directions to be a little annoying and the app timing to be a tad off when determining how much the meat will cook when removed from heat. Once I figured that part out, I have had no trouble and have had excellent results. The app includes some useful features such as recipes and cooking suggestions. The probe seems very well made and I have had no problem cleaning it. I am anxious to try it out using a rotisserie…the whole reason we got a thermometer like this…so that we can check progress remotely. So far, we are very happy with the purchase and feel that it is worth the price.

After going through 3 Yummly thermometers which all failed I punted and bought this one. It is so much better I cannot even believe I didn\'t find this one first. First off, Yummly eats AAA batteries, second it has limited capabilties. This one first off USB rechargeable, easy to see what the battery level is at any time and reliable. I have done chickens, Tri-Tips, Frenched lamb chops, and pork loin. Everyone of these came out great and it connects everytime. It is very smart, it knows when you pull the meat and the base actually talks and indicates you have removed it. Wish I had bought the one with 2 probes for big smoking jobs. Oh and it works bluetooth and wifi so I can use far from my smartphone

I just received this and decided to try it right away. It was simple to set up and pair. Maybe took 5 minutes. I selected my dish (whole roasted chicken) and followed the instructions to insert the probe. It worked perfectly. My chicken was moist and juicy! Can’t ask for more.

When I purchased this probe I thought it would be extremely handy as it would talk to me and remind me of things to do. And it does that very well. My issue and the reason for the average rating is because the range of the probe and the base is very limited. I use the app to keep an eye on my cooking but the base is the “brains “ of this setup and it has to be almost next to the probe. So I learned that I have to leave the base outside on the grill next to the probe. I wanted to have the base inside the house while the probe is in the meat on the grill but it kept losing connection. So all the talking that the base does is outside and that is not very handy.
