Adrian Wood Rustic Style Platform Bed with Headboard, No Box Spring Needed, Wood Slat Support, Queen

Read reviews that mention:

Honestly? Really nice bed frame for the price. The only gripe I have with it is that the supporting legs under the middle of the bed are made of metal, not wood. But everything else is solid wood.

I was a little nervous about buying this bed frame because 1) I was worried it might end up looking a little too old-fashioned, and 2) Before this one, I bought and ended up returning a black wooden Zinus bed frame (the Cottage Style Platform Bed with Headboard; do a search for it in Amazon's search bar) where those metal support legs, starting with the middle one, scraped up the hardwood floor in my room and ended up bending to the point that they were no longer totally vertical. I would like my security deposit back, thank you very much.

Well first let me say this Rustic Style frame actually looks quite nice and handsome. Despite the price, it doesn't look cheap in any way. The headboard is a good height -- doesn't seem to tower over you like Zinus' black Cottage Style frame (although I was using a mattress that was 2" shorter when I had that frame) -- and this frame as a whole looks better to boot. It also feels very sturdy and solid. As for the three metal support legs running down the center, I bought stick-on square felt pads ("Evelots 120 Self Stick, Heavy Duty Felt Pads for Hard Surfaces, Assorted Sizes") to stick to the bottom of the middle support leg and I haven't had any issues with scraping so far; it slides across the hardwood floor instead of digging into it, and because it doesn't end up getting bent and causing the center bar it's attached to to dip (the one that runs from the head to the foot of the bed underneath the wooden slats), the other two metal supports also don't dip down and dig into the floor. Fingers crossed this is a solution that will work permanently.

As far as putting it together, it took me a couple of hours, but I also had to take only one or two pieces at a time into my bedroom while I constructed it piece-by-piece, and was trying to stay quiet so I didn't bother my roommates. The instructions are relatively straightforward, and they have this handy numbering system-- each part is labeled with a number, and it's supposed to attach to another part with the same number, making it easy to know what goes where (the numbers are completely covered once the bed frame is finished so they'll never be visible).

Anyway, to sum up-- I definitely recommend getting this frame. It feels so nice to have a nice, supportive 12" hybrid mattress on top of a solid, supportive, nice-looking platform frame like a freakin' adult, instead of sleeping on a mattress on the floor.

Pro Tip: I've noticed this bed frame's price seems to fluctuate wildly on amazon at times (google "camelcamelcamel" and search for this bed frame and you'll see what I mean). Unless you really need a bed frame right now, if it's over $400, I might recommend waiting a few weeks or a month or two for the price to drop. I actually got mine through a third party seller on amazon, SleepRevolution, for about $290 at the time. Patience and/or diligence can really net you a good deal in this case.

This bed is made of solid wood. The finish is uniform and lustrous. Once assembled, the bed is sturdy. Even more to the point, the design for assembly shows attention to detail and enhances the bed.

I read about 5 complaints from other reviews. Three of these gave me pause about buying this product.

The first is that the bed was difficult to assemble. I cannot conceive of anyone of normal intelligence having difficulty assembling this bed. The parts are clearly labeled and matched with stickers. The instructions are pictorial and easy to follow. The company even provides a ratchet Allen wrench to make the job easier.

The second complaint related to sturdiness. One said the metal bars were flimsy and provided photos of bent metal to prove it. I'm not sure what this professed 150lb fellow received, but the metal bars I received are sturdy and quality. Indeed, I am confident that this bed is stable up to the advertised weight limit, which is well above what any mattress and two healthy adults would weigh together.

The third complaint was the materials are of poor quality. Again, photos were provided of split wood, probably from the headboard piece, itself. I'm not sure why this piece split on this consumer, but I can say that the pieces I received had no splits, and if the instructions were followed correctly with the correct bolts, I believe it's highly unlikely that any of these pieces would splinter or split.

The fourth complaint was that the bolts weren't long enough to attach the headboard. Again, I had no issue. The bolts come in a blister pack and are clearly labeled. If the correct bolts are selected at each step per the instructions, their lengths are perfect for assembly.

Finally, some complained that there were no finishing plugs to cover the boltholes. Here, I agree. While this is a great and beautiful bed, the icing on the cake would have been if the manufacturer included finished bolthole caps.

So, in all, I think that this is a beautiful, sturdy bed frame, designed to hold a reasonable amount of weight. It is a good value for the money. Certainly beats IKEA by a long shot.
It arrived in a large box and the outer box showed some wear and tear. However, all of the components were within an inner box and it was completely intact. It was very well packaged and no issues with damage of any kind.

The finish and quality of the product was better than expected and looks very nice next to our $900 dresser with the same look and finish. It is comparable to what you'd find in a furniture store so quite happy with the finish.

The instructions were "good enough" and I was able to put it together in roughly one hour. The parts are all labeled making it very easy to assembly since you simply put the two ends together that have the same number label on them. Well thought out and easy to assembly.

I liked how the slats had velcro on them so you simply laid them out and the velcro did the rest. They automatically spaced since the slats are all joined together (two sections).

I put a 14" memory foam mattress (Costco purchase) directly on top of the platform and it works very well. No issue with the slat spacing.

The only slight weakness I found in the bed frame is that it is an assembled frame so you shouldn't be trying to slide it around when the mattress is installed. Assemble it roughly where you want it to go and then slide it into the final location before you put the mattress on the frame. This way your not going to potentially damage the frame by pushing or pulling it across the carpet. In other words, it isn't a super heavy duty frame that you can slide around the room at any time but it is more than adequate for stationary use and looks great.

For $300, this is a very good option and I highly recommend it.
I don't write many reviews, but I have to give kudos for this bed. It was easy to set up by one person. I've put together tons of DIY furniture over the decades, and the instructions and parts organization for this bed were among the best I've ever seen. They even give you a rachet tool for assembly. All the parts fit together perfectly and are thoughtfully designed, including the slats that have velcro for extra stability and a padded center strip so the slats don't squeak. The assembled bed is incredibly sturdy and makes no noise whatsoever. This is a great buy for the price, if it was more expensive it would honestly still be worth it. Five stars.
This is a very nice bed frame for the price. I loved that it came double boxed for protection and that all the styrofoam filler pieces were wrapped in plastic. The frame itself was very easy to put together and all the instructions were easy to understand and the hardware well marked. The ratchet tool included was a great help. I even liked that they included extra screws in case you lost some. This bed is very sturdy when put together and looks great in my room.
I am so impressed by the craftsmanship of this bed. Took me about 30 mins to put it together- the instructions are like 12 steps and they are incredibly clear and logical. The wood looks stunning and I keep going into my bedroom and looking at it, cause it works so well with the rest of the furniture. I love that it came with clearly labelled parts, plus a ratchet so I am not straining my fingers trying to allen key all the bolts. It feels sturdy and durable- I love the velcro idea on the slats, they are not going anywhere. I highly recommend this bed, it looks stylish and beautiful, it is lower to the ground, but it looks cozy and it is good quality.
Nicely finished, easy to assemble. I wasn't too happy about the plastic-wrapped styrofoam blocks it came packaged in (environmental nightmare stuff!!) but overall the bed frame is well built and good value for money, so 4 stars.
-Easy to assemble with one person. This particular model had about 15 steps, although some were mirrored steps for the left/right side.
-Solid wood construction with a smooth finish.
-Middle beam is made of metal which is why it is smaller than the other members.
-Overall great buy - who knew Amazon could be a good place to buy a bed frame!
