For 15-18 Ford F150 Truck 5.5Ft Short Bed FRP Hard Solid Tri-Fold Tonneau Cover

Read reviews that mention:

My Truck: 2015 Ford F-150 Lariat, 5.5' bed (important, note the bed size for this review)

I have seen this bed cover advertised here on Amazon and ebay, it's listed from many different sellers so I presume it's something made in China, Mexico, etc that can be bought wholesale or drop shipped. They use the same description/ ad images, the ones where two guys are standing on the cover that appears to be fitted on a white dually truck.

I recently purchased my used truck and it did not come with a cover, nor was there any protection for the bed. I spent more than I wanted on a work truck, so I needed to get a budget cover and mat, with intentions I might upgrade later.

My bed cover arrived damaged (a clip was broke) so I was debating on sending it back before even installing. Thankfully I didn't, the seller and I came to agreement I was happy with. Seller was very prompt in answering my messages.

INSTALLATION
The cover is a little heavier than my previous vinyl cover on my last truck, it has a nice sturdy feel. I'm 185lbs and if I stood on it in the center, it would probably hold me but would flex a little. It installed pretty easy, I just aligned it and tightened the brackets. It's important to note, the last panel on this cover does not fold up against the cab like several I have seen, but that's not an issue for me because it seems pretty simple to remove the cover if I need to haul anything that will take up the entire bed, very rare for me.

So, here's the important part. I have a 5.5' bed and this cover has six anchor points The brackets secure under the lip of the bed. The center anchor points align in a way where there is a bulge/support area and they will not secure, therefore I have to leave the two center anchor points disconnected. With that said, the other 4 anchor points appear to be enough to keep it secure to the truck. I'm not sure if this will be an issue with other bed sizes, so it may be wise to ask for measurements if this is a concern.

SECURITY
As mentioned in the previous section, I am unable to use two of the six anchor points because of alignment, with that said, I tried to lift the bed cover in those areas and it would not budge. I do not feel it affects the security at all, the cover still holds tight. Without opening the tailgate, there is no way to access the inside of your bed. Any determined thief could get in, but not easily, this will take a pry bar. My bed locks automatically when I lock my doors making this convenient, much nicer than having to use a key to lock and unlock, especially when I'm constantly getting in and out of the bed.

FIT & FINISH
I like the looks of the cover, it's a shiny black and looks like a quality cover. It's not flimsy or cheap looking. The seals seem to do a good job of keeping water out, though because the cover was boxed in folded position, two seals around the center are still compressed and have a slight gap, I may take a hair dryer to them and see if I can get them to expand.

I ran the truck through the car wash, this was going to be my first test to check for water tight. After the wash, I could see just a few drops of water in the left corner, this may be resolved by re-tightening the anchor point, but it was really so little it did not concern me.

You may not be able to use your remote to drop your tailgate. I know this may seem silly, but my truck has a nice little push button on the tailgate that will softly let the gate down. I can also do this with my remote. With this bed cover installed, the gate will not automatically go down, you have to give it a little pull or tug, nothing big, but because of the tight fit and seals, this feature no longer works. This has not been an issue for me, but it's worth noting.

SUMMARY
Overall, I'm very happy, and with this cover being half the cost of many hard covers, I think it's a bargain. It's a piece of mind knowing I can secure my tools in the bed of my truck, yet have easy access to them when needed. If I had to do this all over again, I would buy the same cover. I'm giving this cover 4 stars because of the anchor point alignment. I will report back in 6 months to a year to let you know how the cover is holding up.

This bed cover is everything I thought it would be. I have recommended to several friends.

Install instructions are not great but it’s easy enough to figure out. I had to go back and tighten everything down a little tighter to keep the water completely out.

It came with a weather seal for the tailgate that I did not use (tailgates are not naturally water tight) but very little if any water gets in the bed.

Now that I know how to install it I think I could completely take it off in 2-3 minutes and reinstall I. 3-4 minutes. Simple.

One of the plastic clips that hold the cover in the open position came broken. Other reviews said the same thing. The whole apparatus of that is clunky and hard to access with your fingers with the cover right up against the back glass. But not that big of a deal.

Great product!!
Great quality, sleek looking and perfect fit, it adds protection and value.
Fast shipping, received in 40 hours after the order was placed.
Super friendly customer service, provided multiple resolutions for a broken clip caused by shipping.
Fantastic price! All other hard covers are overpriced.
2018 F-150. I don't know what other hard, tri-fold tonneau covers are like. This is my first. What I do know is that this one fits, it came with all the parts, and I actually can stand on the thing with out it collapsing (weighing in at 220).
Installed this on my 2017 F-150, 5.5' bed. Cover fits OK, not a custom fit for the bed, but it works. Pickup truck beds are not rectangular like in the past, the front is almost 2 inches wider than the rear. The bed cover does not fit the lines of the truck, but it works. The cover itself is very good. Seems to be well made and sturdy. The problem is with the attaching clamps. They are junk. Everything but the long screw is cheap plastic. The C-shaped clips that ride in the channels on the bed cover are poorly designed. One of mine snapped in half within a week. Contacted the seller, they don't have any parts to replace broken items. That seems silly, they should have replacements at least for those C-clips, as several have stated they broke 1 or 2 of theirs. Would be a LOT cheaper than sending it back (they offered...), or negotiating a settlement, which is what I did. BTW, Tonno-Pro clamp assemblies will work with this cover, but it'll cost you over $25+ to get one to your door. For <$400, it's not a bad deal, seeing that similar USA-made covers are $800-$1200.
Very easy to install, fit perfectly, my one and only gripe and it's really a personal thing, is the clips that clamp the cover to the truck bed are made of plastic, I would have been more comfortable if they were made of aluminum or something sturdier, otherwise it's great, a little water seeps through, but that goes back to the issue with the clips, because they're plastic I don't wanna clamp down too hard for fear of breaking the clips so I may not have a tight enough seal, otherwise the weather seals look good, despite this one small issue, I would definitely recommend this cover, you can't beat it for the price
The product arrived several days ahead of schedule, had a slight blemish from shipping. I have purchased larger foreign made items in the past and been burned. I reluctantly purchased this item, and to my joy, this is a product that is everything that it was advertised to be. My purchase was for a 5.5' box 2017 F150, and the fit and finish are perfect. The installation took mere minutes, though as is very common with foreign made goods the install docs were not very helpful. I suspect if a person has had a hard tonneau cover they will be able to easily install this, if not, they may need to reach out to someone who has one. I was quoted almost twice the price for a similar cover locally, wound up saving enough by this purchase that I could add a BedRug liner to my truck. The two products combined make for a very nice soft and secure truck bed.
