AmazonBasics Lightweight Super Soft Easy Care Microfiber Sheet Set with 16" Deep Pockets - Queen, Navy Blue

These sheets feel soft when they arrive and also after the first laundering. It was fun to put these new sheets on the bed. Then came the problems. The sheets are so thin that the bottom sheet can't possibly stay flat, so the result is a wrinkly bed all the time. Then they started to pill. I washed them in cold water and dried them on low, but still they pill. There are tiny crumbs everywhere, including on the bedroom floor. These sheets are not worth buying. AmazonBasics does not mean Amazon's Best, or even Mediocre. The material is super soft, and I love that, but the sheets are so "flimsy". I bought this set for our king size bed and the sheets do not stay "tight" around the mattress. Despite the fact that the sheets have deep pockets. When I go to make the bed, the fitted sheet is all wrinkled and I literally have to pull it taut. For you ladies, I grab it the way we used to grab our panty hose as we put them on. I'll grab the sheet with one hand, then with the other and so on until I'm able to pull it taut and all the wrinkles are out. If the sheets are really bad, I literally have to strip the bed to make it so it looks at least half way made. They were cheap, so this proves the old "you get what you pay for" adage. I'm not returning them, but I'm looking for other sheets and these can be an extra set in case of an emergency. I have had these sheets for 6 months and they are already worn and pilly. The top sheet is so rough that I can feel the pills against my skin. I am so disappointed with these sheets. I should have went with the Utopia brand or these from Sweet Home Collection 1500 Supreme Collection Bed Sheets - PREMIUM QUALITY BED SHEET SET & LOW PRICE, SINCE 2012 - Deep Pocket Wrinkle Free Hypoallergenic Bedding - 4 Piece Sheets - PAISLEY PRINT- Queen, Gray because they continue to feel soft and comfortable. These two brands of sheets I have had for several years and they have held up wonderfully. These sheets seemed too good to be true at $19.99 and due to my being intentionally thrifty, I decided to give them a try. You see, sheets that are considered better quality are pretty expensive and can easily cost between $60 and $100. I'm just not a fan of spending that sort of money on what seems to me should only cost around $20. However, I've learned my lesson. I still have these sheets as a backup but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone, especially people who sleep hot. They're relatively smooth to the touch and seem harmless but they sure do reflect body heat. I thought they would be better than the 100% cotton flannel set I bought but nope. What's worse is the sheets really aren't appealing to look at. Not at all. They are a semi-see-through fabric with an ugly shade of tan/taupe.If there's one thing I've learned about sheets and bedding it's that high quality, 100% cotton sheets and bedding make a world of difference in how well I sleep. If you sleep hot, don't buy synthetic sheets and bedding. Buy cotton. Until I recently purchased Target's Threshold 400 ct Performance set I was in the dark on the difference. I also bought a 100% cotton and began using a regular down comforter instead of a synthetically filled comforter. This changed my world and I sleep cool every night. It used to be that the synthetically filled down comforter just laying bunched up next to me would be enough to keep me so warm that I'd wake up at 3 or 4am. Now, I can sleep with the down comforter ON me, it seems, just about any day of the year. So, don't do microfiber if you sleep warm, otherwise, this may be perfect for you. Over the past year I've purchased at least six sets of sheets. I recently discovered Pinzon by Amazon, and their flannel sheets are wonderful, as are the 400 thread count. However, I have yet to be able to configure the right combination of light weight sheets and a light blanket until I found these microfiber sheets. They're different, ok? Don't expect hotel quality sheets. But wow, are they cool at night! I read lots of reviews and made sure to wash them in cold water, dry on low and remove from dryer promptly. They came out perfectly! I have a deep mattress with a gel/foam topper, and the sheets fit perfectly. They do make a sort of slippery sound, but it's not bothersome, just different. I'm here to get another set today. Wish I had tried them sooner.ETA 11/16/19 - I'm purchasing my 3rd and 4th sets of these sheets today. One will be a gift for my mom and dad. Over a year later, I've had no issues at all. They continue to wash and fit perfectly, and are easily adaptable for weather changes. I add a flannel top sheet or blanket when chilly. Can't be beat for under $20 a set. There are additional sets of pillowcases available in standard and king.
