Wow, first adjustable base. Where have you been all my life? I purchased this as consumer report's top new mattress was a fraction of the price of my 11 year old tempur-pedic grand. As the fabulous new Sleep on Latex, was $5 grand less, I began researching adjustable beds. I learned that Legget and Platt, was the "Cadillac" of adjustable beds. As I have a terrible back, and a sizable savings on a mattress that out ranks Tempur (per Consumers), I jumped on the iDealBed.
All the setup guide, owners manual, and warrantee are Leggett and Platt.
This is a L&P bed, at huge discount. The setup booklet is the same as, with pictures of, the $grand more expensive bed. The help telephone line is to L&P.
Now, what is different.
1) iDealBed, is not printed on the remote. Wireless, of course
That's it!
The bed is soo sturdy. The massaging choices work like a dream. Massage works up to 30 minutes. The "lay flat" button works with one touch-no hold needed. Flash light nice, as is back lighting of all buttons. Under bed lighting illuminates all around bed for animal safety, and finding slippers.
Several position choices preset, and a couple of memory choices you make.
Nice button to lock bed, so children can not endanger themselves and pets.
Super easy setup. Screw on legs, and 2 minutes unpacking and pressing cotton pins back on. Flip bed over (2 people), and plug into surge protector.
Surge protection NOT INCLUDED!
Purchase Velcro to always know where your remote is.
Place mattress on bed. Relax, and know that you have a 10 year motorized warranty!
PS Update: IDealBed increased price $15, the night I slept on decision to buy. Today, when I wrote review, price increased almost $100 +tax. Yes, tax on possible medical device. Will call about doctor script for tax return.
Is bed price increasing for holiday reduction? I hope not. Love this bed base. Perfect in my Tommy Bahama poster bed. Just Heaven!
January, 2018 update;
At 6'4", the 9" Sleep On Latex, left me feeling as though I dropped half way to the floor getting into bed. The wonderful people at Sleep On Latex, sold me a 3", $300 topper, for 149.50. It made all the difference. The pressure point on my hip was gone, and elastic sheet grippers (under$10) left me secure that upon waking all bedding would remain intact.
BTW, my massage unit operates in 3 distinct areas, although the rolling massage flows up and down the whole body. I only use the 2 lower power setting, lest I want a shiatsu experience. Perhaps, the perfect mattress for a motorized bed is latex?
Many months, fantastic find!
I was in the market for an adjustable base for quite some time. And, I have to say after a month of using this base, I really feel I got the best bang for my buck. The base arrived very promptly, but it’s extremely heavy. You absolutely need 2 people to get it up a set of stairs. It’s very easy to assemble. You really only have to attach the legs and the mattress retainer. Once you have the legs on, you can plug it in and start enjoying all the amazing features. This bed has a massage function, the head can articulate up to 70 degrees (with your mattress feels like you’re literally sitting up right), the feet can elevate as well. The remote is back lit, there is underbed lighting, and you can program the remote to remember specific sleep settings. There are no cons to this bed. It’s absolutely the best bang for your buck. No other base comes with all those features at this price point. I will state that the massage function is kind of useless if your mattress is thick. Our mattress is 10” thick and we can feel a slight hum/vibration, but no real massage. That’s really not a negative for us anyway because we don’t even use that function. I will try and update this review as time goes on, but right now I’m a fan.
6 months later and I am still a huge fan! The bed works wonderfully for us with no issues as of yet.
Update: the USB Charger port seems to only work sometimes. I’m not taking a star away. It’s not a sea breaker, but something to be aware of.
This is a wonderful bed - easy to install. The zero gravity position is extremely comfortable. Remote is easy to use. Just one note - If you get a memory foam mattress to use with this, be sure to set the setting to "flat" when you get up in the morning to give the mattress time to recover before bedtime. I am so happy I spent the money on this bed!
I went into one of the big box bed stores 1st to price adjustable beds. The prices were on the moon and every little option( lights under bed, wireless remote, massage etc.) was an upcharge of hundreds each tier. The baseline model was more than double the price of this one and I'd have to pay for delivery. I live upstairs and it was delivered to room of my choice covered in the price. In home setup wasn't much more and I didn't have to lift a finger. They threw out the packing trash. Amazon's contractor was professional & they even threw out my old box frame for me. It gets better, it's a very well made bed frame and it works exactly as described. It has ALL the features the other had and more included. The massage really does work. We can feel through the mattress and the different speeds and patterns knock me and my girlfriend out in minutes when we are having trouble falling asleep on restless nights. I have severe problems with my back and can't lay in a normal bed or sit in a chair to watch TV. This frame allows me to lay down and watch TV by getting into the exact right position that's comfortable for me. I don't usually review products but I really did my homework on adjustable frames. I'm on a budget and I could not find a better price anywhere. With shipping and every single feature included I really saved thousandsof dollars. It also seems to include a good warranty. I've had mine for about a month and love it. If your looking for an adjustable bed I highly recommend purchasing this bed frame.
Beautiful bed base, a bit on the heavy side, solid. Motor and wave motion work great. I recommend if you are used to your bed being high than you might want to look at getting some Leggitt and Platt legs. The base is only 11 inches off the floor. Mine sits inside the bed frame so we can not even use the USB ports, right now. I did order 11 inch legs to lift it higher.
