Would buy again and recommend. Have had it about a year and a half now and can say for sure that it can hold a lot of weight and also tahrs a lot if abuse fr the kids and their friends.

Just set this up alone in about 10 min. Stupid easy to set up! First impression while sitting, pretty comfortable but will definitely be needing a couple throw pillows for the arm rests since there is zero padding in the arm rest. I'm 5'3 and if i sit sideways on it i can stretch my legs out all the way with a inch left of room. I used this couch to put under my full size bed Ikea loft and it is literally a PERFECT fit! Has enough clearance underneath that I'll be buying a fold away table to store underneath if i decide i want to have a table for dinner. I do think the seating part is a bit too short so it pushes your butt kind of forward but I'll likely be sitting sideways so it doesn't matter too much. The stone grey is a perfect light grey that's not too dark and is definitely a neutral color. Overall for $300 this couch was definitely worth it. Will update after some use to see how it holds up but so far first impressions are good.

Update 15 days after setting up:
I still love this couch, only draw back is the lack of cushioning in the arm rests. Since they are pretty short, it makes it a bit weird to sit sideways so I've been using multiple pillows to try and remedy this.
This has been holding up pretty well to my cats claws occasionally hooking in the fabric which was my main concern. You can't notice it!
I had a friend come over and both him and i could comfortably sit on this couch and have a drink and talk.
Overall still highly impressed with this couch!

Update after 6 months:
still an awesome couch. no wobbling and cushions are holding up well. still my only complaint is the arm rests have no padding so its uncomfortable to lean on or lay horizontally on since i can feel the corner on my back and ankle.
It looks good and is easy to assemble, but it's hard as a rock....and I mean like granite. The back cushions are fine but the seat is horrible. I'm hoping it will soften over time and wear. If it were in a store and I had a chance to sit on it first, I never would have bought it. That's a gamble you take with items like this. It's too big to return so I guess I'll use it. 3/5 stars
For the money it’s a good couch. It’s perfect in my townhouse. I put it together myself. pretty easy took me less than 45 minutes and I am only 5 foot four medium build and had no problem. It’s not the most cushy comfy, if you like that but I like the retro look and the firmness of it.
Like others mentioned, this is great for small spaces or studios. It is firm which helps it keep its shape though I am the main one using it and am about 160 pounds. I put my feet up a lot and it’s never kept a dent.

Had this couch for almost 2 years and it’s held up just fine. It really is on the firm side though, like the kind of couch you’d sit on in a waiting area…a fancy waiting area. Like you’d go in and wait for an appointment and sit in this couch and think “this is a nice couch” but it’s more like this is a nice couch…for this office.

Once you bring it home it’s like it looks nice, but it’s kinda stiff, works better with throws and pillows but the cushion you’re sitting on is still firm. I don’t mind it, I used to sleep on the ground so sitting on this is just fine.

The couch is also shallow, so you’re sitting upright with great posture the entire time, not much depth for slouching, lounging, or putting up your feet.

I think this couch is great for a small area of your home where this isn’t the main sofa or studio apartment when you’re starting out and can save for something more suitable to your needs.

For the affordability, easy spot cleaning and surprising durability, it’s a decent sofa.
I originally purchased this couch in 2020. I have other Zinus products I loved, so I figured this one would be no different. It was easy and quick to assemble. It looked cute. My husband immediately complained that it wasn't comfy--and it really wasn't--but I we'd bought an entertainment center to go with it so it HAD to work.

But the second or third time we sat on it, the beam in the back broke. No one was rough. It just seemed like the wood may have been splintered in production?
I contacted Zinus and since it was early pandemic there wasn't much they could do. They didn't know when they'd be able to send a replacement back. The solution they gave me was to send back the entire couch for a partial refund.

We ended up using the broken couch until we found a replacement locally. We took apart the broken Zinus and use the former sitting portion as an ottoman. Everyone loves our giant ottoman.

TLDR; As a couch, not great. As an ottoman, AWESOME.
I bought this couch because it looked comfy, and it also looked cheap enough that I wouldn’t be upset if my cat destroyed it.

Both have been true. It’s also incredibly difficult to assemble so be aware. There is no way one person can assemble it on their own.
It is easy to install. But there are a lot of scratch on the legs, not sure if it is new one or not.
Received the couch on Jan 20. Posting this review on Jan 31.

I really needed a couch. I was living off a terrible futon excuse for a couch and it was killing my humanity.

I looked at "real" couches, but after measuring my entrance, I sadly came to the conclusion that my entrance can only fit an item of a width of 30 inches and a depth of 33 inches, that I could never have couch that was per-built.

Then comes in Zinus! I had already purchased a bed frame about two years earlier that I am still very still very content with, so when I saw they also did couches that came in boxes, I was pretty confident in my choice.

THE PLAYERS: me:: 5 feet 5 inches, 34 inch legs. Partner: 6 feet 0 inches

GETTING THE COUCH: They just left it on my porch. (no surprise here as that is what they do for everything.) It was big enough that no porch thieves could steal it, but compact enough that if you really wanted to bring it in all by yourself.. it is possible. I wouldn't recommend it. It ideally needs two people to bring it in, but being compact in a box made it easy to do so. My partner did essentially all the work, I just made sure it didn't get stuck on a step. Took all of maybe 2 minutes to get up the stairs and around our weird corner into our apartment.

PUTTING IT TOGETHER: You will see posts saying that is took them 12 minutes, 10 minutes or what ever, to put it together. For us....well for my partner that insisted on putting it together by himself. It took him a total of (I totally timed it due to seeing if the other reviews were correct) 17 minutes. Mind you.. he put it together wrong TWICE. It wasn't until the second time that he looked at the instructions.. and really.. you don't need to even look at the instructions unless something isn't working right. Once he figured out the right way, it took only 3 minutes of the whole 17 minutes that he took. I feel that it is pretty intuitive to put together.. but if you have a stubborn person around the images help. I believe that opening the box to couch could easily be less than 10 minutes with the right person.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: Honestly, the pictures do not do if justice. It looks tight! In a perfect world, I would have had three movable cushions and a darker colour, but, nah.. this really looks great. Impressive, even.

THE FEEL: When you first sit on it, it may feel "firm" That is a good thing. My partner has been spending hours and hour sitting on it and he is completely find. I have sciatica and this couch is a breath of fresh air. Both of us have tested it twice (or more) with a night of sleep and it is still great. I was initially worried with the 'staying' of cat imprints (noted in one of my pics) but they go away. I mean, obviously it isn't the best foam, but considering the abuse we have pushed on it, it is super comfy. Firm, yes, but perfect for lounging all day long.

THE SIZE: My 6 foot partner is ecstatic at the height for his legs, for it is actually comfortable for him. For me, at 5'5", it allow a perfect "bend".. I don't know what else to call it, but I can sit perfectly and promote great posture, which helps my sciatica. I feel so great on this couch that even with my sciatica, I feel comfortable in crossing my legs one it and leaning to the side armchair etc; there is just so much support. Speaking of which..

THE FOAM INSIDE: I included a picture with me pointing out where my cat stepped. "Oh no! There is a dent!!" I thought at first. I now don't really care as the foam of the couch comes back just fine. It probably isn't the best foam insides, but, again, me and my partner have spent ridiculous time on this couch ( I was super sick when it showed up so I didn't leave it for 3 days; when I wasn't there my partner has been sitting on it playing video games.) It handled him, me and my back very well.. So well that I actually ordered something for my bed about two weeks in of owning this couch as I really liked how comfy it was and it made me realize how bad my bed was.

It is "firm" when you sit.. I guess? But it is a GOOD firm. A comfy firm. A firm you can sit on for hours and play games without issues. It is a great sleep too. Being 5'5", I can stretch out and sleep. With my partner, there is still plenty of room to lie down with him at one end and be comfortable. It is really a great length.

THE CATS: I have two cats and they immediately demanded a fort, so I made one for them (the were not impressed with me taking a photo.) For the back of the couch, it is a tad thin, but both my 10 pound cat and my 16 pound cat have been able to figure out how to lie comfortably on the back of the couch behind us.

OVERALL: It isn't a colour I would like, but it is a couch that I could actually fit to get in my apartment. It was easy to put together and it is super comfortable. I love it. I really do.
A lot of money for the quality. I guess that's what I get from shopping on Amazon for a couch.
Arrived in a fairly compact box, assembling was basically put the feet on the arm rests, lower the seat onto them, then slide in the back. Cushions are held with Velcro.

It also passes the Riki test, as he was sleeping on it well before me.
I bought this couch quite some time ago and, due to unforeseen circumstances, this couch became my bed.

Despite being impossible to clean (for the type of use I put it through) the couch has stood up just fine against not only being a bed, but a living room sofa for a small family.

10 out of 10 would buy it again.
Do not buy this sofa. I had another Zinus sofa for 3 years & I liked it a lot. It was stable, durable and comfortable to sit on. Given that good experience, I bought this one for our new place but this one is nothing like the previous one.
In a way, this sofa is defective since the centre leg of the sofa, the one that’s supposed to provide the support in the centre, does not touch the floor! It’s hanging in the air!
I still decided to give it a try for a month and see how things go. Towards the end of 1 month, it started showing signs of concavity towards the edges - where we sit most of the times & it’s convex in the centre now. You expect a new $800 sofa to do better. So I decided to return it.
Now Amazon says 30 days return but what it conveniently forgets to mention is that the return is totally on you & they offer you $3.99 for the return irrespective of how much you might have to pay for the return out of your own pocket ! So your return is not free. I was quoted $300 for the return by multiple logistical services. Given that I would barely get half amount back by returning this crap, I had no choice but to keep it.
Not everyone can afford to shell out $800 every few months to buy a new sofa.
If you want to get thoroughly disappointed by spending $800, then this is your sofa!!!
