I have been very pleased with this large furniture and fire pit setup for my deck that is facing our backyard forest.
The assembly onsite option was not selected and that saved me some cash since I was able to build each piece within 20 minutes or less. My time to build each piece became quicker after I had built the first 2 armless chairs. Each box that arrives has the black vector image of the pieces on the outside of the box. The boxes have their own tools, manual, and fasteners sealed so I could have had a "build party" to have several people assemble a piece on their own. The sections of each chair are labeled on the inside with the party number and text description. Extra pieces of rattan are included along with longer strands located near the bolt sections so that I could weave over those sections to hide the exposed bolt threads.
This multiple piece set allows for so many configurations so we can change up the setting based on how many people are visiting or for the type of event we are hosting outside. These are not heavy pieces so I can easily pick them up without scraping the deck paint stain off the decking wood. The U shaped black brackets eliminates the risk of sofa chair sections from sliding apart from each other and having a guest that consumed more than their share of libations trying to sit between sections. These brackets snap on the bottom of the chairs and keep them connected together. I was able to connect four pieces together and then rotate the chairs that were on their backs down to the deck without having the brackets crack or pop off. To place a bracket on the corner section I just lift up that chair slightly off the ground and allow the two pieces to push into the bracket to avoid dealing with the hassle of rotating the L shaped configuration.
These cushions were top notch and I was pleasantly surprised by the fabric choice, stitching and roll seam, zipper, and cushions. Do not worry about receiving thin fabric covers that wear down or show pilling along with low quality zippers. These cushions add some elegance along with durability. We never leave the cushions outside and the chairs could be sat on "bare bottom" if needed since I do not hit the corner metal bars when sitting on the rattan with the reinforced elastic bungee underneath, but my preference is to sit down and back using the cushions.
The fire pit is beautiful but stable with consistent spark ignition each time. This was the only piece in this large set that required tools that were not provided which was a philips screwdriver. To add some flare to the pit and fire the set provides 10 pounds of beautiful blue purple fire glass. With all fireglass be sure to wear gloves when placing into the pit metal around the burner circle tubing. I performed an extra step and put a grate on top of a scrap box and poured out the glass then sifted by pushing the glass back and forth a couple of times. This removes all the dust and sharp small pieces and then transfer the remaining pieces into the fire pit. This way my pit is free of glass dust blowing or dropping onto the tank inside. The instructions state NOT to tighten any screw until the four sides have been connected. This is key and will make the aligning bolts to holes easier and avoid the forcing that usually results in stripped threads. The square lid cover lays flat when not using the propane fire so I can place snacks, drinks, or even cover with a square silicone mat to avoid scratches to the finish.
Additional decorative items that have been provided are steel logos on the back towards the bottom of each chair section, and metal silver around the corner foot sections. I was careful not to pull hard on the blue plastic protective covering to avoid bending or tearing the metal foil on these foot sections. My next item to purchase will be a 96 by 72 inch cover for all the pieces and a 29x29 square pit cover. These sections can be stacked by placing a chair upside down onto an upright section, leaving the corner sofa pieces on the ends. I was able to place the table unit upside down into a chair and then the glass top using one of the large white protective woven sheets that came with the packaging. This creates the rectangle with small footprint on the patio when the chairs are covered for the winter season.
