I purchased this on March 11 and it worked great until last week. We made sure there were no obstructions as that seemed to be an issue for some other people but that didn't help either. The base will not raise smoothly for the head or foot portion of the bed and makes a ticking noise while jerking up slowly. If we use any other pre-settings on the remote, it raises and lowers fine. Also, when we turn on the massage feature, it can't be turned off without unplugging the unit to reset it. We have replaced the batteries in the remote 2 times as we thought maybe this was a problem but no luck. This was way too expensive of a product to break after 2 months use. I am very disappointed. I emailed support and am hoping I hear back from them soon. I will update this review based on the feedback they offer. I have included a short video of what is happening and if you listen closely, you can hear the ticking noise I am talking about. In the video, we show each feature being used and you can clearly see that moving the head and foot portions up is a challenge to say the least. The other functions on the remote work except this time, the TV/PC function wouldn't work at all.
***Updated Review-May 27, 2017. I was contacted immediately after leaving this review and was sent a new control box and remote. The box is different than the original but so far so good. Customer service was excellent so I am adjusting my review to 5/5.
I got this bed frame on Thursday. Everything seemed to be going fine with it.. Every negative thing I read in the reviews didn't happen to me.. It went together easily, the legs didn't bend, nothing on it was broken or severed.. And that's where the good ends. Everything worked great for a few hours while I played around with it and tested all the controls.. Then I decided to try it in the full upright position. Once I got into the full upright position, the control box started beeping and every function stopped working. The motors didn't work, the massage didn't work.. nothing worked. I went through the trouble shooting procedures and tried unplugging it for 2 minutes (then 5 minutes, 10 minutes, overnight, etc). As soon as I plugged it back in it started beeping again and still didn't work. Here's the worst part: a major reason why I decided to buy this thing is that although the frame seems to have a lot of problems, reading the reviews it seemed like the company really stood behind their products. I read a few reviews that said when beds broke, the company would overnight the part that they needed. This is not the case for me. It broke the day I got it, I immediately e-mailed them to tell them what happened (I also mentioned the fact that I got rid of my old bed and now I have to sleep on the floor due to this bed being stuck in the full upright position), and now it's Monday and I just found out the parts I need won't be here until Thursday! That's a full week of sleeping on the floor. The rep I talked to doesn't seem to care. There is no apology or anything of that sort. I'm really regretting this purchase and I implore anyone reading this to pay close attention to the negative reviews. YOU REALLY DO GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!
***Update 7/7/2017*** I finally received the new control box and remote yesterday. It was an easy fix and I got it back up and running in less than 5 minutes. Fast forward to later that night, and my wife decides to press the zero G button. Instead of going into that position, it goes full upright, and it's stuck there. The head motor is now broken. I am now returning this piece of trash.
I went into this purchase knowing full well that you do get what you pay for, but still wanting adjustable bed frame that would help me sleep better, would be acceptable by my wife, but not in the costing me as much as a used car. I purchased two twin XL units in order to form a king size bed. It took me 30 minutes each to put them together, with no drama. If you've assembled IKEA furniture for your house, you can put these together as well. I did it by myself but I would say that it would come in handy to have a helper assist you.
The frames function as intended. I'm using them with 12 inch Dynasty mattresses which I absolutely love. My biggest gripe is with the legs: they are made out of a super soft metal, or as I call it "Chinesium" :) This wouldn't be a big deal if they were straight, but my concern is that all 12 of these legs attached at a slightly different angle. If you look at my picture that I uploaded you'll see how they kick off to the sides in different directions. It's only a matter of time until one breaks because the load is not square. When that happens I will notify the manufacturer and report back on the results.
When my adult children put the bed together, it did not work! They checked wires here and checked wires there! It seemed that there was no way that it was getting electricity as the remote would do nothing. All the appropriate green lights were on, even the USB Port! Later after giving up for awhile, my son checked a You Tube Video and the remote had to be "Paired!" No where in the instructions was this mentioned! Thanks to his tenacity, the bed is now working properly!
Had it for about a week now and use it with my existing memory foam mattress. I love it - it's great for watching TV/eating/lazing.
Delivery was pain free - the package tracking from the company was a bit confusing but as it got closer, they called to schedule delivery, which is great. It's garage/front door drop off though - I tried to see if they would take it upstairs for a tip but they weren't interested. The package is SERIOUSLY heavy. But after opening it up, the frame is in two pieces that I could barely manage to take up the stairs by myself (I'm reasonably/not overly strong).
Assembly was straightforward. As others have said, one half had bolt holes that were a bit tight, but it wasn't ridiculously bad - doable with the allen key provided. I left on the longest legs, and it's a bit tall, but I'm too lazy to remove the longer legs and having the extra height for the blankets to not hit the floor is nice (and maybe I can store things under the bed)
The wireless remote feels a bit cheap but seems solid and is very functional (backlit buttons would be nice). I haven't tried the integrated USB charger on the side of the bedframe yet. I've been wanting an adjustable bed for a while and came across this one by chance. I'm very happy with its value.
Update: 2 years in, the controller malfunctioned. It was still under warranty and customer support sent a new control box pretty quickly. Happy with the level of support.
The quality of customer service cited in Amazon's reviews is one of the main reasons that I purchased from Classic. It is a large (no pun intended) purchase for us and also one not easily returned, so after-sales support was a key factor in our decision making.
At the age of 67 with numerous assemblies during my years, the instructions provided are the most clear, concise and easiest to follow that I have ever encountered on any item. The colour coding of cords and thoughtful construction made assembly a breeze.
Unfortunately, as happens with even the highest production standards and the most stringent quality control by reputable companies, there is the fact that a product with a flaw will eventually be shipped. We won the lottery with a flawed controller. Despite it happening on the Labour Day Monday weekend, a replacement unit was in our hands by Thursday. The aftersales service was exemplary and lived up to the reviews. Staff was professional, courteous and eager to be of service and ensure complete customer satisfaction. The replacement unit is operating flawlessly.
Consider the alternative when purchasing. Do you really want to hear, "Kindly ship back our 100 pound bed and we will consider sending you a replacement. Please note that it must returned in pristine original packaging."
As for price, this unit was a fractional cost of a unit with similar features from Canadian retailer. Somebody is paying for the TV advertising and sales commission plus overhead. Thank you Classic Brands for making it someone else.
Ordered this full size Classic adjustable bed from Vancouver B.C. Canada on the 14th of March and it arrived on the 16th!
Only took me about 45 minutes to assemble by myself. (You may want help, it is heavy) Instructions that come with it are good quality and are very clear..just follow the bouncing ball and you should do fine. I went online to Classic site and read the instructions online while awaiting delivery...really helped.
It worked perfectly the first time. I have a classic cool gel mattress arriving next week but for now just using my old spring mattress.. and it surprisingly worked right away with it as well.
All the bolts/screws etc. were easy to assemble with good fit.
Pay attention to the instructions re: that the motors for head/foot are different.
The cables are easy- color coded just remember that the massage and motor cables need to be connected as per instructions.
The base is good quality steel construction with a good fabric finish.
The flexible leg lengths were thoughtful, but I just used the maximum length...sits solid and even on my floor.
This is a good purchase and excellent delivery. I am impressed.
UPDATE APRIL 29/2017: I LOVE THIS BED FRAME! I cannot believe how much more comfortable sleeping with the head and foot raised. Less pain, actually very comfortable/better sleeping. Has been really great for breathing and acid re flux. Sometimes I have a mid afternoon rest with the zero gravity...awesome...back up in 10-20 mins. Glad I bought it!
Great addition to the bedroom. I highly recommend this product. Easy to set up. Would buy again in a heart beat.
I will mention that we had a box spring previous that gave a little give to our mattress. With this you don't get that little "give". But after a week we didn't even notice.
Vibrations aren't as strong as an icomfort bed but for a quarter of the price it's really irrelevant.
Make sure you buy a bra or something to strap down your fitted sheet at the top three sheet will pop off from time to time from the bed going up and down.
Update 2019 August 3
Bed is still awesome. Make sure you install the battery in case the power goes out :)
Finally got here and seems pretty good. One major complaint it is missing the power cord. Everything inside the box was a mess. Stuff falling out of there boxes. I have attached a picture. Would really hope the manufacturer will send a power cord ASAP.
Changing my rating, to 5 stars as all my issues were resolved extremely quickly and I couldn't be a more satisfied customer. Amazon was terrific and Classic Brands was amazing. Ordered another bed for my Mother, she is going to love it!!!
