We purchased this reclining sofa for our teen space. Excellent for all day Xbox or movie binges! We were looking for cup holders and reclining. The pull down table top is a nice feature. Was able to see and sit on the sofa in person at a furniture store. Purchased with Amazon because they had the best price and could be delivered in 2 days! The sofa arrived at the exact day and time scheduled. The delivery company was very professional and friendly. It came in one large box with the 3 back cushions laying on top. Very easy to "assemble ". Simply slide each back cushion into a metal channel until it clicks into place! We like it so much we ordered a separate reclining chair!
OK 1st let's be fair it is a $650 sofa, you cannot expect too much. Like others mine came with a bent leg on the center back cushion. (see picture) The angle of the bend looks like a manufacture mistake not a shipping or other issue. So Amazon (Seller) got a large batch of these and could sell for cheaper than Ashley. A c-clamp and some muscle and it straightened right out and worked as designed. The other issue is that the reclining mech. on the left (as you are facing the sofa) side seems to hit the frame but still works fine. I will need to fix it, if I expect it to last more than 1 year. Now the good ! It is exactly what I wanted. We have 2 dogs at 100 lbs. each and the young one DESTROYED the last sofa that cost over $1k in less than 1 year. SO this is cheap enough, comfortable enough, with the right configuration so that wife and I can sit together, that I still think this is a good value. Just not overwhelmed enough to give more than 3 stars. BTW I saved over $350 compared to buying from manufacture directly so I will add 1 star just for that reason :) This is NOT a $1k sofa! Hope this helps to set your expectations
We have tried three times now to get this couch delivered whole and fully functional. Still trying.
Back story: we put in new flooring on the main floor of the house to the tune of 7k and then decided that the old couch, loveseat and chair were too old and shabby to spoil the new look. We settled on this couch and a matching reclining chair because it looks good, it was relatively inexpensive and most importantly, it went well with the new floor.
The first attempt to complete this purchase was aborted by the shipping company who refused and returned the couch to a warehouse in Stockton, Ca. because it was damaged. I appreciate that, but it would have been nice if the shipping company had notified us, because we spent a whole Saturday waiting for a delivery and when it never came, *we* made contact with Amazon who said: "oh yeah, it was damaged".
**Keep in mind that when you order the couch, you're looking at a week to 10 days for delivery. We put in new floors, ordered the couch and then waited 10 days to be told it wouldn't be delivered due to damage.**
Attempt #2 looked like this: We ordered the same couch and it shipped from a warehouse in Arizona. The day before it arrived, I got notification from Amazon via email that the first couch was returned by the shipping company because it was damaged. Yes, we were notified 7 days after the fact. Then on day 8 after order #2, we took delivery of the couch and immediately noticed damage to a metal connecting piece on the middle back cushion. (The couch is shipped in a box in four pieces: the base plus three back cushions. It is easy to assemble, assuming you manage to get one that's not damaged...something that we have yet to see. The metal piece can be hammered straight-ish but won't go into its connecting slot properly...because you can't actually hammer it straight enough. You can however muscle it into place.) We got the bent metal piece straight, put the couch together and could tell immediately that the whole frame was bent. There was a noticeable gap between the side back section and the middle section. Also the footrest on the right side would catch on the metal frame and would not release fully if you were sitting on the couch. After sleeping on it for a night, we made the decision to return the couch and try again. The shipping company promptly arrived 2 days later and picked up the couch...and Amazon let us know they were refunding $20 from the first couch. F@*%$@!!! That's another story.
We then made an agreement that if the third attempt to get this couch went like the first two, we would get a refund and go directly to the Ashley furniture store 20 minutes away and see if they could get us this model and color of couch. The problem with that is Ashley wants $200 more for delivery....which is looking like it may be worth it.
Attempt #3 goes like this: The same day we elected to return the second couch, we ordered couch #3. Again it's 7 days wait for delivery. We make contact with Amazon who assure us the full price for the second couch would be refunded when they receive the couch....which...ok...whatever. Couch arrived this afternoon. Red flag #1. The box is clearly marked with arrows indicating which way is up. The couch was delivered to us upside down. Remember that bent/damaged metal piece from the second couch? The same one was bent/damaged again...and again, it can be hammered straight-ish and muscled into place....but why, as a consumer, should you have to do this??? Assembly of couch attempt #3 went easily enough, but again the right side footrest is flawed. It catches on the frame about half the time when you pop it up, and you have to finesse it back down every time.
So now we have a decision to make: Amazon (and their local shipping company) is clearly incapable of delivering this couch to us in working order. We could take a refund again (although we're still waiting for the refund for couch #2), take our money directly to the local Ashley store, pay an extra $200 and see if they can deliver it to us in full working order. OR, I can break out an angle grinder and see if I can grind down the metal frame corner where the footrest hinge is catching and make it work. Which is something that I, as the consumer, should not have to do. I mean, we already decided that if the third couch doesn't work we're going to go directly to the store...but we are in a situation where we haven't had a couch in the house for close to a month now.
Are you looking at purchasing this couch: it looks good, it is very comfortable, it may even match your floor. But good luck getting one that isn't broken.
Just what we wanted very comfortable and very very easy to assemble
Delivery guys were great on time and easy to work with.
This description says it has a drop down cup holder. It does not. The sofa is very nice but I wanted the cup holders so I didn't have to get end tables.
It is a beautiful and comfortable sofa and o love it! I am very satisfied. I spent a long time researching and trying to make a decision about this sofa and I have no regrets. It looks so big and nice in the room. I can lay out on it most comfortably.
It was delivered on time .
I had the sofa for 2 weeks now and I like it. It gives great support to the back yet very comfortable. My wife picked the color, but I would not recommend it, it can get dirty relatively fast and In my opinion darker sofas withstand time much better. I bought this sofa as open box at discount, but it had a tag and looked completely new. Delivery came exactly in the middle of time frame Amazon has provided.
We absolutely LOVE this couch. It's beautiful and incredibly comfortable! The bonus is that it was $150 less here on Amazon that it would have been directly from Ashley Furniture - and FREE SHIPPING! I just wish I had more time to kick back and relax but I'm in my 'spot' every chance I get! Love the fold down table, reclining feature, and the ability to fold up the table if I want to lay down.
