I waited a year to write this review because I really disliked this couch when I first got it, and I figured instead of caving to the initial felling I'd let my feelings simmer for a while...

One year later, I've concluded that my instincts were correct; this couch is quite badly made, especially for the price point. The pull-out futon worked correctly 2 times of > 100 attempts. I initially thought that I might just need to learn the "right" way to do it, but to no avail (and I tried ~ 20 times in a row when I first got it, and many many more times after that). To be more specific, when attempting to pull the futon out, it wouldn't latch to the couch, which leaves you with a floating ottoman the size of the couch itself - far less than ideal for sleeping on.

Also, one of the seats recently caved in after 14-15 months of ownership, rendering the larger half of the couch unusable.

I will say that the ability to split the couch into 2 pieces came in handy a couple of times, but aside from that my experience with this product has been exceptionally bad. Don't buy it.
