I was a bit leery about what I would receive and the assembly based on some of the bad reviews I read but I’ve learned from past experiences that a lot of bad reviews come from people who don’t seem to fully read product descriptions dimensions and do research on products before purchasing (like watching review videos which I always do) also some bad reviews from people that don’t understand that sometimes accidents happen (missing parts broken parts) When the product arrived I took all the parts out and reviewed the instructions and parts list in the instruction manual to get. Good understanding of what each piece was and how the assembly would be done before I started. It’s true that pieces that were supposed to “click” when put together did not. I also received mine with a broken part but was able to still assemble the bench and contact the manufacturer for a replacement part. (Manufacturer makes it really easy to do via an online form. You can also call or email for a replacement part) I didn’t get any push back or a bunch of questions just “what color bench did you order” I’m not the type of person who expects everything to also be perfect, thing happen. What matters to me is what is done to rectify the issue. Luckily I’m able to use the bench while waiting for the replacement part. Part of the back was broken but I have mine against a wall so the wall supports the back while I wait for the replacement part. Considering the bench was only 150 dollars I’m impressed with what I got especially after browsing similar storage benches and their prices before deciding on this one. As far as sturdiness goes, I was a bit concerned when I was organizing and inspecting parts before assembly (it did seem like the plastic was thin) but after it was all put together it feels very sturdy. I know once I receive my replacement part I’ll be even more impressed. Assembly was very easy, there are not many parts and few small parts. Few steps and I was very satisfied when it was done (even with the broken part) pics I have seen on bad reviews look like the person might have been rushing through assembly or not following directions properly
For storage that can double as outdoor seating, this bench works great. We added a cushion, and that makes it even better. A little harder to put together than their other storage boxes, and the bottom liner doesn't feel nearly as substantial. Also doesn't have the Otherwise, if you want a storage box that does more than sit there - one you can sit on comfortably yourself - this box is worth the extra $20-$30 over a plain storage box.
I really love this bench. I needed to store pool supplies in it and I was pleasantly surprised how much it can hold. I didn’t want another big bulky thing taking up space on our deck so I am very happy that it is a bench that can seat our guests. It looks very nice as well but the reasons for my 4 stars instead of 5 were because first, it was very difficult to put together. My husband and I struggled with it especially because so many pieces needed to be snapped in. Also, some of the pre-drilled holes weren’t drilled so we had to drill them ourselves. The other reason for the lack of star was the bottom of the storage compartment. It doesn’t seem sturdy and it’s made out of a material that looks like it wouldn’t stand up to a lot of weight or the presence of water. We haven’t had any bad weather and so far it’s been ok. Not sure how it will be in the snow though.
The Solana Deck Box has a sleek and modern design that blends well with various outdoor decors. Its wood-like texture provides an attractive look, while being made of durable resin, which means it’s not prone to splintering or fading. With a 70-gallon capacity, it offers ample storage for cushions, garden tools, or other patio essentials. This makes it a great option if you need to keep your outdoor space tidy and organized. It functions both as a storage container and a bench. The top is designed to be used as a seat, supporting up to 485 pounds, so it can double as extra seating for guests. The resin material is relatively easy to clean. A simple wipe-down or occasional rinse with water usually suffices to keep it looking good. The Keter Solana typically comes with straightforward assembly instructions and doesn’t require advanced tools. Most users find the process manageable, though it can take some time to get everything aligned properly. The Keter Solana 70 Gallon Storage Bench Deck Box is a solid choice if you’re looking for a functional, attractive, and durable outdoor storage solution. Its dual-purpose design makes it a practical addition to any patio, and its weather-resistant construction ensures longevity.
This is very poor quality and the bottom of it is made from CARDBOARD - forget waterproof or even water resistant, and forget plastic, it’s cardboard with a little weird spray on it. Not sturdy, not strong.
Also, no holes on the bottom to secure it and the instructions to do the last couple pieces suck. The arms aren’t well molded and pinch when picking up the pieces (not clicked/secured together). The “locking” lid is a joke and it would take about a second to pop it off. Sharp edges with sloppy production value and numerous areas where I had to cut it back .
This thing is a horrible waste of money. Even with the $30 discount, it isn’t worth it. I wasn’t expecting wood-quality, but I was expecting at least plastic, not cardboard for an outdoor storage bench. Ridiculous. Trash. Poor quality with no pride of product. Sad.
Do not waste your time, money or energy unless you don’t care about any of the above.
Easy to build. Very sturdy. Great outdoor storage for kids toys. The bottom is a plastic board, seems flimsy and not held up by much, I would not put too much weight inside it. The space inside is great.
Nice and easy assembly
Great addition to our patio. Keeps our shoes dry and out of the weather. Would be nice if it came with a cushion as the plastic seat is not that comfortable to sit on.
although it was a real pain to assemble (with just one person), it looks great and will be a wonderful addition to my deck
Good instructions . A bit complex....pay attention! but OK
Definetely a two person assembly project if you aren't an octopus.
