Pros: Useful, flexible, and easy to put together.
Cons: It doesn't carry much in the way of weight. Know what you want to use this for.
This is not a bookshelf.
I have been trying to organize and organize. My yarn was in half a dozen containers and I was tired of my pets stealing it. I got a grid cube system like this and wanted something more attractive for my craft room. Enter this product. It is cute. I like the designs. It is flexible.
Let's discuss the details:
The black is opaque. The white is translucent. You will see through it.
The pattern is only on one side. This means your interior panels will have a pattern on one side and no pattern and showing seams on the other. Just note this in case you care.
However, you can make the pattern match up to be continuous if you care.
The seams are very clear on the doors. They do not look bad IMO but they are there.
The doors have a straight rod on one side that they will pivot on. They lock in with magnets. There are enough magnets to lock one corner. They really need magnets in both corners. This is because there is just enough movement in the way the plastic fits around the frames of the door pieces that a piece can push another one just a touch. I had to shuffle around some door panels to get them to fit. On the flip side these magnets do work and my doors are closed.
Putting this together:
It is not hard. The key is to make sure the edges are snapped in with each cube you build. This will make life easier. As you build a layer up make sure to press down. You will think they are clicked in enough but they will go in another click. If you don't have the arm strength to push them together, press it against the wall. Press straight and slowly. They will snap into place and the entire system will feel better.
I did not have any bent frames. A few of my white panels have some dents in them from packaging. My biggest problem was that some of my magnets were broken and one didn't have a magnet in it. Thankfully, they included an extra bag of magnets and I just managed to have enough.
Things that may bother some: The logo on the connectors cannot be set straight. They will always be at an angle.
All in all I quite like this thing.
I ordered two sets of these and they came in within ten days. We were missing the extra magnets and I emailed them to ask what I could do about it. They responded to my email within one hour...yep, an hour :) and told me I would have the parts within a week. The organizers are beautiful and very sturdy! I have a set of them in the bedroom closet and a set in the living room. Well worth the money! Also, I want to compliment the company itself. They were quick, courteous and very professional! I will order from this company again in a heartbeat!
An overall wonderful experience!
I have the 20 cube modular shelving by Langria. This shelving is incredibly versatile. It can be used for storage shelving, a mini-closet and as a room divider. (I took a few photos. Let me know if you find them helpful.)
It’s a sturdy shelving unit with an infinite amount of ways that it can be put together. It’s strong enough that you can leave out a couple of panels and it will still stay together. The connectors are very strong and you have to use some pushing and pulling to connect and reconnect them. It enables you to construct a strong wall (and if you leave some panels out you’ll be able to peek straight through it. It includes optional door panels. The doors are applied the same way as the door panel. It includes a magnet that can be inserted into the joints, however, I felt like I really didn’t need them. A hanging bar can be easily inserted and it fits a child-sized hanger.
The shelf is non-transparent, semi-eggshell black with a glossy swirl design. You can also use the reverse side which would be without the swirl design. (You’d just have a ¼ edge with the swirl design on the perimeter of the reverse side.)
The doors are translucent white with a more opaque swirl design. You can see a ghostly view of what’s inside. If you have the transparent doors on the side which gets light or sunlight, the shelving seems to have a ghostly glow. In one of my photos I used plug in LED strip lights on the bottom of the shelf. I really liked that I could use this as an interesting room divider between open rooms, between beds in a dorm and function for light storage. The fact that this can be constructed into so many different uses and it can be deconstructed very easily and is also sturdy makes this a great product.
This has been a wonderful addition to my organizing. Love it!
I think that this cabinet is very versatile and will meet my needs. I don’t think the instructions are worth a darn. I strongly recommend that you buy the smallest little zip ties you can find and don’t hesitate to reinforce every joint with zip ties. I put four zip ties on every joint for the ones inside and two zip ties on the joints along the outside corners. You don’t need brute strength to hook the joints together if you have a long pair of needle nose pliers. After sliding the corner of the edge into the little disk, I simply squeezed it the rest of the way in with a pair of pliers. I love it that it is so tall. The only thing I did different was I left the backs off of six cubes to accommodate the long baskets that I wanted to put inside. So I have six extra pieces left over. I also strung Christmas lights inside by weaving them in an out of the corners by the joints. Because I added the zip ties and the Christmas lights the whole thing took me a total of about four hours - twohour sessions on two different days.I know other people complained about the little disks breaking. Other people complained about the iron squares bending. Of all the disks they came with the cabinet I only found one that was broken. But none broke while I was putting the cabinet together. None of the metal bent while I was putting the cabinet together because I used needle nose pliers instead of brute strength. Of all the disks they came with the cabinet I only found one that was broken. But none broke while I was putting the cabinet together.
