I only wished I would have known about this frame sooner. It's super easy to set up (takes like 2 min) no tools needed at all, affordable, and really sturdy. I'm a minimalist but there's plenty of space to store things under it like my walking pad. I highly recommend it

We purchased two of these bed frames for post-college apartments and are happy with the quality! Assembly was a breeze and easily managed solo. The frame is intended to serve as a platform, requiring
no boxspring. They look and feel sturdy and, so far, no squeaking or other noises. A standard bed skirt covers the legs giving it the look of a mattress and boxspring. A terrific product!
This is the first time I got this 14" full sized bed platform for my new full sized mattress because I wanted one without needing to purchase a box spring. I can say that after a couple days I am very pleased and satisfied with what I got.

This bed platform was very easy to set up. I did it all by myself with no help. No wasting time trying to put the legs and slats together because this comes in practically two pieces. All I had to do was to follow the instructions and put the screws in for the legs and join the two metal platforms together. It is very stable on my carpet floor and is very sturdy now that I have my mattress and comforter on top. I'm only 5'0" and about 120 lbs so I don't see this platform possibly bending or collapsing from my regular use. Even if I use the bed with a heavier person on there I think it is still very stable. I have not heard any squeaking as I was rolling around and moving on my bed. I also like that they included some nonslip adhesive strips as it helped keep my bed skirt in place while I placed my new mattress on top. I didn't get a headboard so I'm not sure how easy it is to install any headboard outside of the brand.

I am currently renting a room in a house and storage space has been pretty limited to me. I was able to fit a lot of things underneath the smartbase, including my shoes, styrofoam cooler, some clothes, bags, and clean containers and food jars. Pretty much any storage container under 13" in height can fit underneath the base. The diagonal bars that hold the legs in place and legs in the middle of the base are in the way, so if you have any wide and tall storage containers then you have to be a little careful. If you need to fit standard storage containers, I would recommend getting the taller smartbase such as the 16" or 18".

For someone of my height with a 14" base plus 8” mattress and a 2" mattress topper, I did not have trouble getting on and off of my bed. My feet dangle about 2-3" off the ground now. I could imagine that any smartbase greater than 14" would give my bed a lot of height.

Overall I am very happy that I got this base. You can probably tell that the black cat in one of my pictures is very pleased, too. I would argue that even if you don't need much bed storage space, this is a great bedroom essential to have because it is easy for one person to put together, dismantle, and move and you can easily add height to your bed without sacrificing its stability and sturdiness. And with a good bed skirt and comforter, you'll forget that you even have a metal bed platform!
The frame did come with all the tools necessary for assembly which was nice. The instructions were not great, however, and someone who does not have experience with these things might find it a bit overwhelming. Once assembled, the frame is strong and does the job.
First, a little note. When people review stuff online, it's usually because they totally loved the product or hated it. Unfortunately, that doesn't account for STUPIDITY, so reviews should be treated with caution.
Personally, my favorite reviews are usually 3 stars. They're usually pretty honest.

Here's how I use online reviews:
a) I carefully read the full item description, features, and specs from the manufacturer, and look at photos of the product to check for consistency.
b) I read five to ten of the 5-star reviews to see if what the reviewers enjoyed matched the item description.
c) I read every 1-star review and use a rubric that scores on:
i) the reviewer's intelligence level (not even highest education received and I feel like I'm very generous on spelling and grammar mistakes, as I think an average fourth grader is still competent enough to rate most products),
ii) the reviewer's experience level with products of that nature (for example, if I'm buying carabiners and the reviewer says they know nothing about climbing, then I know I can't trust the review),
iii) whether the reviewer is reviewing the product or the seller (yes, there is a different place to rate the seller, as well as the packaging and shipping speed, but some people don't seem to understand that, see above for stupidity),
iv) whether the reviewer read the item description,
v) and finally, what they were actually disappointed about.

This bed is exactly as described. I bought it to replace a platform bed with wooden slats that I didn't feel confident would stand up again after another move and my career field leads to lots of relocations. Field technicians in biology, ecology, forestry, etc. have adopted the phrase "bio gypsy" and for good reason.

I read multiple reviews for this product and loads of other beds like it before I decided to take the leap. And leap I did!

1) It is extremely easy to setup. I took about 20 minutes, diligently checking that I'd securely tightened all the foot-supporting bars' wing nuts: first when the two halves were upside down, then when they were right-side up and finally after I'd connected them. There were instructions for assembly, but only a very very dumb monkey would need them. The support bars for the legs are very obvious and if they aren't, try to imagine any reason for the wing nuts, to which the support bars attach, to exist on such a minimal design.

Also, part of those 20 minutes were also spent making sure the thing would disassemble as easily as it setup. It passed that test.

2) I've had the bed for less than a week, but I've been testing it pretty thoroughly (though not in the "active couple" way quite yet, that will be next week (; ) by jumping up and down and rolling and bouncing. I've tried to make it squeak. I weigh ~140 lbs (which isn't particularly heavy, I know, which is why I've been aggressively jumping to try to get a squeak) and I can't get a peep from this thing. There are no pieces of metal to rub together to make any god-awful noise. There are some reviews that mentioned both creaking AND squeaking. I may be wrong, but I consider those to be very different. Creaking would occur if there was some part of the frame rubbing another and squeaking is when a joint or contact point moves audibly. There is absolutely no creaking here.

Oh, but wait, I should mention that I took about two minutes to adhere a small piece of cardboard (cut from the box) to each of the twelve feet to keep the rubber feet from squeaking on the hardwood floor. I would've done that anyway to protect the floor. Also, I placed some to act as bumpers on the parts of the frame that could contact the walls during grown-up activities. A little bit of foresight should go a long way there, I think.

If the bed starts creaking after a few months, you should check that all the nuts are still tight. It is normal for those things to loosen up.

3) This frame is not an eyesore. If it doesn't look like a fancy bed for your master bedroom, then buy a bedskirt. It does look metal. And it has lots of under-the-bed storage space. That matches the item description and the photos.

4) There are no brackets for head- or footboard attachment. Those are sold separately.

5) My mattress doesn't slide around. I'm not sure why that's an issue for other people, and there aren't any rails or listen lips to keep it in place, but it's still not an issue.

6) This product eliminates the need for a box spring. Some reviewers have said they feel like the princess and the pea because the mattress is so high when they use this frame plus a box spring. Also, there is no need to buy pieces of particle board to add extra support for the mattress (unless it is a foam mattress with absolutely no support for itself). The thin metal wires are strong enough for the job.

7) I expect the frame to be compatible with some wooden frames (probably if made by the same company), so I'm not surprised that some people couldn't get this to work out. Check the dimensions of the wooden frame you want to place this inside of and check the product specs before ordering.
Overall
The Zinus foldable bed frame is a practical and convenient option for those with limited space or guests staying over. It's easy to set up and fold away, offers comfortable support, and provides additional storage space underneath.

Packaging and Setup
The bed frame arrived in a large box but was surprisingly lightweight, making it easy to handle. Unboxing was simple, and the setup process took only a few minutes. To assemble, you simply unfold the frame and extend the legs. Collapsing it is just as easy, making it a great space-saving solution.

Performance and Experience
I recently used this bed frame for a family member who was visiting. We already had a mattress but no frame, so this was the perfect solution. The frame was the right height, providing comfortable support without needing a box spring.

My family member slept on the bed for four nights and reported a restful sleep each time. The frame was sturdy and didn't make any creaking noises. The ability to store belongings under the bed was also a plus.
After my family member left, I easily folded the frame and stored it in the basement for the next time we have guests.

Pros
Easy to assemble and fold away
Provides comfortable support without a box spring
Offers additional storage space
Sturdy and quiet
Lightweight for easy handling

Cons
None so far
The easiest set up ever , looks great
* Full King size bedframe
* Excellent construction
* No boxspring needed
* Much improved easy assembly to place two halves together and separate them as needed
* Easy separation allows use as two Twin size bedframes if needed in a pinch
* Easily holds 10, 12 and even 14 inch size King mattresses without breaking a sweat
* Lots of storage space underneath
* Excellent price

* Not fashionable
* No headboard included
* Plastic snap-on fasteners don't seem as sturdy as the old long screw and wingnut fasteners
* Requires extra headboard brackets, separate headboard and bedskirt purchases if desired

The Zinus King size 14" is an excellent addition to their SmartBase line of bedframes and is an upgrade from my previous Queen size 18" model. The assembly has been improved from using long screws and wingscrew fasteners to a quartet of plastic snap-on fasteners. These make the assembly of the full size bedframe a snap, pun fully intended, though the metal long screws and fasteners provided more peace of mind. Still, this is supporting both a brand new 12" Zinus hybrid mattress and a 3" Zinus memory foam topper without any issues whatsoever.

Construction is excellent as always from sturdy metal that doesn't bend. A headboard is not included and will require a separate purchase for the headboard and fasteners. You can also purchase a separate bedskirt as well if you want to hide the metal frame and legs from sight. There's plenty of storage space underneath, so you may want to get that bedskirt to hide whatever you're storing.

Appearance is straightforward and plain, all black metal. This is not a bedframe you buy to make a fashion statement in your bedroom. You buy this as an inexpensive but quality way of furnishing a bedroom. I strongly suggest equipping it with a Zinus hybrid mattress and foam topper. You'll get a quality bed for far less than you'd get from a dedicated furniture or bedstore. I've been using their bedroom products to furnish both my own bedroom twice (Queen size and now this upgrade to King size), a cousin's (Queen size and my nephew's (Full size) ever since I discovered them on Amazon. Every single one of is happy. Highly recommended.
Easy assembly, it’s actually a great product if you want a high quality frame for a good price, assembled in about 5 minutes, there is actually no squeaking noise at all , I replaced my old frame because of the squeaky slats, also this frame is foldable, great if you ever need to get rid of it or move , amazing product for this price range.
